Abstract: A mechanism for securing a vehicle protection system to an axle of a vehicle is provided. The mechanism may include a plurality of studs that are configured to secure the vehicle protection system and the backing plate of a brake assembly to an axle flange of a vehicle's axle. Each stud may include an outer end separated from an inner end by a spacer. The outer end may also include an expanded section adjacent the spacer that can be positioned within bolt holes of the axle flange. The expanded section may include knurls for forming a press fit within the bolt holes.

Abstract: An aircraft includes at least two propulsion units being pivotable and arranged adjacent to each other along an arrangement direction. The propulsion units include a propulsion rotor and a duct for guiding air to the rotor. The duct has a non-circular inlet portion, a circular downstream portion located downstream of the inlet portion along the airflow direction, and an air guiding portion guiding air from the non-circular inlet portion to the circular downstream portion and establishing the transition therebetween. The air guiding portion has upper and lower portions. The aircraft further includes at least one septum interposed between rotation axes of two adjacent propulsion rotors. The septum extends on the upstream side along the airflow direction with respect to the circular downstream portion and between the upper and lower air guiding portions and has a guiding surface having at least one tangential plane parallel to the rotation axis.

Abstract: A system can be configured to: (i) obtain a set of input images depicting one or more bodily structures of a patient; (ii) determine whether one or more key structures are represented within the set of input images by utilizing a key structure detection module; (iii) determine one or more key images of the one or more images of the set of input images by utilizing a key image localization module; (iv) determine key structure segmentation by utilizing a key structure segmentation module; (v) determine one or more patient condition metrics using the key structure segmentation; and (vi) generate a report associated with the patient based upon the one or more patient condition metrics, or generate an entry at one or more practitioner worklists based upon the one or more patient condition metrics.

Abstract: Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) is an opportunistic pathogen causing Kaposi's sarcoma. It is capable of establishing latent infection, which can be reactivated to engage lytic infection for progeny production. KSHV contains a ˜165 kilobase DNA genome predicted to encode at least 90 open reading frames (ORFs). In this report, we generated 91 KSHV mutants, each characterized by the disruption of a single viral ORF. The growth of these mutants in cultured cells was examined to systematically investigate the necessity of each ORF for viral latency, reactivation, and lytic replication. Salient aspects are (a) 44 ORFs are essential for viral lytic replication in cultured cells and 47 are nonessential; (b) KSHV reactivation can be positively or negatively regulated by specific viral ORFs; and (c) ORFs identified to regulate viral reactivation encode functions modulating both innate and adaptive immune responses.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a landing and approach navigation system. The navigation system can use a radar system onboard an aircraft to transmit radio energy. A rotating reflector at a landing area can reflect the radio energy back to the radar system with an amplitude-modulation that is due to the rotation. With synchronized timing between the reflector and the radar system, and known rotation characteristics of the reflector, the radar system can use the reflected radio energy to calculate the bearing of the aircraft relative to the reflector and landing area.

Abstract: An expansion joint system for bridging a gap between spaced apart structural members and capable of self-cleaning. The expansion joint system includes first and second base members, at least one upwardly sloped base plate engaged with one of the first and second base members, and at least one substantially horizontal movable plate engaged with at least one of the first and second base members. Also disclosed is an expansion joint including a first structural member and a second structural member, first and second base members, at least one upwardly sloped base plate engaged with one of the first and second base members, and at least one substantially horizontal movable plate engaged with at least one of the first and second base members.

Abstract: A system for creating a processing graph configured to: (i) create the processing graph to include at least a plurality of nodes and one or more edges, each edge of the one or more edges connects a pair of nodes, each node of the graph represents a component of computation performed by at least one program referenced by that node; (ii) identify a first node of the plurality of nodes within the graph; (iii) access a first node definition of the first node from a nodes database, the first node definition identifies a dependency node, the dependency node represents a component of computation that generates output data used by the first node; (iv) add a second node to the graph as a child of the first node, the second node representing the dependency node; and (v) add a first edge to the graph connecting the first node and second node.

Abstract: A track fitting is provided for securing items to a track in a vehicle. The track fitting may be comprised of multiple pieces that can be independently inserted top-down into the track at any location along the length of the track. The item can then be bolted into the track fitting. The track fitting, in some embodiments, is not dependent upon scalloped track for securement. In other embodiments, the track fitting includes a locking member that creates interference between the track fitting and the scallops to prevent the track fitting from sliding longitudinally in the track.

Abstract: A ramp assembly to accommodate a wheel-chaired passenger to enter or exit a motorized vehicle having a conventional floor includes a frame, a ramp, and a side rail assembly. The ramp is slidably coupled to the frame for movement between a stowed position and an extended position. Once extended, the rear end of the ramp is movable between a raised position and a lowered position. The side rail assembly is moveable from a collapsed position to a lifted position as the ramp moves from the lowered position to the raised position.

Abstract: One variation of a system for power distribution of a trailer includes: a trailer chassis; a driven axle suspended from the trailer chassis; and a motor coupled to the driven axle. The system further includes a battery assembly coupled to the trailer chassis and configured to supply electrical energy to the motor to drive the driven axle and source electrical energy from the motor to slow motion of the driven axle. The system also includes a charging panel coupled to the trailer chassis and configured to couple to an external charging element. The system further includes a panel actuator configured to advance the charging panel from the trailer chassis to an open position to form a target gap between the external charging element and the charging panel and to retract the charging panel to a closed position to decouple the charging panel from the external charging element.

Abstract: A ramp assembly to accommodate a wheel-chaired passenger to enter or exit a motorized vehicle includes a frame, a ramp movable relative to the frame, a drive block configured to move the ramp relative to the frame, a linkage arm having a first end pivotably coupled to the drive block, a linkage panel pivotably coupled to the linkage arm and a rear end of the ramp, and an upper roller pivotably coupled to the linkage panel for rotation about a pivot axis of the linkage panel to facilitate rotation of the ramp relative to the frame.

Abstract: A method for representing a visualization of assets includes receiving a request for a transfer of assets from an electronic computing device having augmented reality (AR) capabilities or virtual reality (VR) capabilities. The request includes a source account, a destination account, and a transfer amount. An image data is generated, which is representative of the transfer amount being transferred from the source account to the destination account. The image data is sent to an image generator of the electronic computing device to be displayed.

Abstract: A dose collection container comprising first and second opposing walls, the first wall comprising an aperture sized to receive a nozzle of a nasal spray, and the second wall comprising at least two diverging impact surfaces which, on actuation of a nasal spray into the dose collection container, deflect the spray along an internal surface.
