Abstract: A method for steering of roaming (SOR) in wireless communication networks includes sending by a mobile equipment (ME) a registration message to a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN). The ME receives a first message from a home public land mobile network (HPLMN) through the VPLMN. The ME determines that the first message has failed a security check. In response to determining that the first message has failed the security check, the ME sends a second message to the VPLMN, the second message including an indication that the first message has failed the security check.

Abstract: A method for network selection on a user equipment (UE) device and the UE device are shown. The user equipment device registers on a first network in a wide area cellular network (WACN) band and receives, from a wireless local area network (WLAN), a list of WACNs that support generic access network (GAN) capabilities. The user equipment device selects the WLAN if the first network is on the list.

Abstract: In some examples, a wireless device receives, from a wireless access network node, an indication of a supported extended emergency information (EEI) type supported by a wireless local area network (WLAN). The supported EEI type is selected from among a plurality of different EEI types. The wireless device sends a message relating to an emergency call, the message including EEI data according to the supported EEI type.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a system and method of exchanging GRUUs (Globally Routed User Agent URI (Uniform Resource Identifier)) between a first telephony-enabled device and a second telephony enabled device using a circuit-switched message is provided. Once exchanged, the telephony enabled devices can exchange SIP (session initiated protocol) communications routed by the GRUUs. Any one of the telephony-enabled devices can add a media component to the SIP communications. According to another aspect, a system and method of generating GRUUs is provided. According to another aspect, a system and method of handing off communications to a packet switched network from a circuit switched network is provided.

Abstract: In various aspects, a system that receives a first message, wherein the first message comprises a communication device identification and a feature tag having a language indication that indicates a language configuration of a user equipment. In response to the receiving the first message, storing the language indication and associating the language indication with the communication device identification. The system determines whether an incoming call is not authenticated and in response to the determining that the incoming call is not authenticated, transmitting a textual message to the communication device using the language configuration to indicate the incoming call is not authenticated.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, by which to permit selection by a user of a mobile node of with which cellular communication system network that the mobile node shall communicate by way of an interworking wireless local area network. User selection is provided even when the interworking wireless local area network is directly connected to the home network of the mobile node. A determiner determines whether the interworking wireless local area network is directly connected to the home network. And, responsive to the determinations, an identifier identifies the cellular communication system network associated with the interworking wireless local area network.
