The filter material can be formed into a holder and a lid, configured to hold beverage brewing material and cover an open end of the holder, respectively. The coating material can be applied to at least a portion of the lid and/or the holder, such as to an entire surface or in a pattern on a surface. A beverage pod includes the beverage pod material and beverage brewing material arranged in the holder. The lid is fixed to the holder to close the open end of the holder and enclose the beverage brewing material.
