    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel displaying an image. A backlight assembly is disposed under the display panel. A phase delaying plate is disposed on the display panel. The backlight assembly emits a collimated light in a direction substantially perpendicular to the display panel. The phase delaying plate includes a phase delaying layer. The phase delaying layer includes a first pattern delaying a phase of the light passing the display panel by a first phase and a second pattern delaying the phase of the light passing the display panel by a second phase. The second phase is different from the first phase. Accordingly, a spatial crosstalk may be minimized and the optimal viewing angle of the display apparatus may be increased.

    Abstract: A method of displaying a stereoscopic image provides first light having a first wavelength and second light having a second wavelength different from the first wavelength to the a display panel according to left-eye and right-eye images displayed on the display panel. Color correcting data are generated by correcting at least one of left-eye color data corresponding to the left-eye image and right-eye color data corresponding to the right-eye image such that a first color coordinate according to the first light and a second color coordinate according to the second light coincide with each other with respect to the same color. The left-eye and right-eye images are displayed using light having wavelengths different from each other, so that a display quality of the stereoscopic image may be enhanced.

    Abstract: A driving apparatus for a display device that is capable of lowering the manufacturing cost for different types of gate driving integrated circuits is presented. The apparatus has pixels arranged in a matrix, each pixel having a first and a second subpixels. A gate driver has a plurality of gate driving circuits, and each of the plurality of gate driving circuits generates first and second gate signals that are applied to the first and second subpixels, respectively. A controller outputs control signals for controlling the output of a carry signal for each of the gate driving circuits. Where an OR gate serves as the controller, two types of gate signals for different pixel rows can be generated: a first type where gate signals are applied to the different pixel rows at the same time and a second type where gate signals are not applied at the same time.

    Abstract: A driving chip includes a main input part, a plurality of circuit cells and an auxiliary input part. The main input part includes a plurality of input terminals which receive an external signal. The circuit cells generate a driving signal in response to a signal applied from the main input part. The auxiliary input part is spaced apart from the circuit cells by a first distance that is shorter than a second distance between the main input part and the auxiliary input part. The auxiliary input part receives the external signal and applies the external signal to the circuit cells. Therefore, line resistance variation between the circuit cells of the driving chip and a power input terminal may be decreased, so that driving chip defects may be prevented.
