The solar and electrolytic system also includes an electrolysis cell with an anode and a cathode each extending into an electrolysis tank and each electrically coupled to a power supply. One or more intersystem fluid pathways fluidly couple the water collection vessel of the moisture harvesting solar system with the electrolysis tank of the electrolysis cell and one or more electrical pathways electrically couple the photovoltaic module of the moisture harvesting solar system with the power supply of the electrolysis cell.

    Abstract: A system and methods for electrolysis of saline solutions are provided. An exemplary system provides a tandem electrolysis cell. The tandem electrolysis cell includes a common enclosure that has two chambers. A first chamber is separated from a second chamber by a cation selective membrane. A common anode and a first cathode (cathode A) are disposed in the first chamber. The first cathode and the common anode are configured to electrolyze a saline solution to hydrogen and oxygen. A second cathode (cathode B) is disposed in the second chamber. The second cathode and the common anode are configured to electrolyze a brine solution in the first chamber to form chlorine and water in the second chamber to form hydrogen and hydroxide ions.

    Abstract: A solar collection system is provided in which an absorption refrigeration system is included to generate water from atmospheric moisture, and to do so without the use of an electrically operated compressor. At least a portion of the solar energy captured by the solar collection system is used to operate the absorption refrigeration cycle. The absorption refrigeration cycle provides cooling that causes water in the atmosphere to condense into a liquid that can be collected and used for various applications. As one example, the collected liquid can be used for the cleaning of the solar collection system of contaminants like dust or bird drippings. In other applications, the water can be used outside the solar collection system including, but not limited to, irrigation, drinking, and other industrial purposes.

    Abstract: Methods of extracting 1-4 cycle heterocyclic compounds and 2-5 cycle polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon feedstock are described. The methods include providing a hydrocarbon feedstock containing crude oil fractions, and determining an A/R ratio and an asphaltene concentration of the hydrocarbon feedstock. Based upon the A/R ratio and the asphaltene concentration, the treatable hydrocarbon feedstock undergoes one or more of cracking and fractionating. Subsequently, at least one targeted portion of the heterocyclic compounds is extracted from the fractionated stream with an aqueous solvent. A stream containing the 2-5 cycle polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons is transferred to an extractor and the 2-5 cycle polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons are extracted with a solvent system comprising an aprotic solvent.

The turbines are fluidly coupled to the electrolyte pathways.
