  • Publication number: 20160358279
Abstract: A particular system and methodology by which a drug or medical therapy regimen is defined for any particular patient in a manner that takes not only a drug or therapy's effectiveness into account, but also an entire spectrum of relevant clinical dimensions so as minimize the possibility of harmful interactions while simultaneously maximizing pharmacotherapy potential. Furthermore, as a consequence of its construction, no medically relevant rule can be overlooked by the reasoning system. The system and methodology utilizes a computerized dimensional indexing system implementing multiple databases and performs therapeutic determinations by symbolic structural reasoning with respect to database elemental indices.

  • Publication number: 20160358404
Abstract: An automated prescription dispensing system and method for facilitating dispensing of medications from an automated prescription dispenser designed for in-home use. The dispenser may connect to a remote patient monitoring center for monitoring of the patient's dispenser use and adherence to a medication regime. The dispenser may further connect to a remote medication operations center for monitoring replenishment of the patient's medications and to a remote medical center for monitoring the patient's reaction to medications and clinical signs. A connection to a data analytics center and analytical engine facilitates communications among and between the users and/or caregivers at the remote centers. The dispenser may be loaded with a standardized cartridge that is replenished according to the patient's needs. The dispenser is further equipped with a camera that allows a caregiver at the remote patient monitoring center to view the patient while the patient uses the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20160224730
Abstract: A condition can be diagnosed based on a symptom experienced by a subject and based on a biological sample including nucleic acids. Based on the symptom, a first set of the nucleic acids can be preselected for analysis. A first plurality of the nucleic acids of the first set that are present in the first biological sample can be captured. For each of the captured nucleic acids of the first plurality, an amount of that captured nucleic acid that is present in the first biological sample can be quantified and sequenced and based on the sequence of that captured nucleic acid, an origin of that captured nucleic acid can be identified. An indication can be output of the quantified amount and the identified origin of at least one captured nucleic acid that is present in the first biological sample.

  • Publication number: 20140156312
Abstract: Universal internet access to a patient's critical medical records is obtainable by creating an anonymous medical homepage for each patient which is devoid of any personal identifiers. The anonymous medical homepage is hosted on a centralized data server which receives medical information from a participating physician's electronic medical records program. At the time of an office or consultation visit, EMR data is captured by the data center and processed so as to append critical patient medical information to the patient's anonymous homepage. The owner of the anonymous homepage is identified solely by a pseudoname and password, such that the patient's identity is maintained in confidence. A medical alert bracelet or medical alert card, containing the patient's pseudoname and password, gives notice and grants access to an emergency physician in cases where the patient is unconscious or otherwise unable to communicate a scientifically rigorous and detailed medical history.

  • Publication number: 20100198616
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for electronic and algorithmic data mining of an individual physician's prescribing history to determine the approximate distribution of diseases within their practice population for optimizing pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Rapid and large-scale determination of specific clinical safety and efficacy attributes of a marketed drug which are most pertinent and relevant to a given physician, when compared to a competitor's drug, are defined and tabularized. Major clinical characteristics taken into account include a drug's safety, efficacy, cost, dosing convenience, formulary insurance coverage, side effect profiles, and FDA approval for the intended use. A symbolic representation of knowledge is employed in which the marketed drug and each competitor's drug are compared algorithmically against each other with a scoring system that is based upon machine analysis of each major clinical characteristic.

  • Patent number: 7624029
Abstract: A system and method for rapid entry of past medical diagnoses allows for development of specific, clinically relevant diagnoses from a simple input medication through use of a developed database that maps an input medication to a specific medical diagnosis through an intermediate indications data set. Input medications are normalized to their generic or chemical name and the normalized medication data is associated to an intermediate diagnosis through a medications indications listing contained in a database. Each medication develops a short list of possible specific and/or macro-diagnoses (indications) consistent with the medications and a selected indication is concept-matched to a specific medical diagnosis in order to develop a proper diagnosis in clinically meaningful terms, from a concept-mapped portion of the database.

  • Publication number: 20040162835
Abstract: A particular system and methodology by which patient-specific medication safety instructions and information is defined for any particular patient in a manner that takes not only a drug's identification, dose, and dose frequency into account, but also an entire spectrum of relevant clinical dimensions so as minimize the possibility of harmful interactions while simultaneously maximizing interaction information content. Patient-specific medication safety instructions and information are generated by an automated system that populates a template with data relevant to the patient. The template is populated by substituting layperson-intelligible terminology for symbolic logic argument elements in suitable text strings. Symbolic logic argument elements are derived from a computerized dimensional indexing system implementing multiple databases and performing therapeutic determinations by symbolic structural reasoning with respect to database elemental indices defining the symbolic logic argument elements.

  • Publication number: 20020082978
Abstract: An interactive system which provides customers with comprehensive information about a plurality of automobiles and any associated customizable features, collects customer requirements and preferences for an automobile and its customizable features, and provides a forum for conducting a reverse auction where sellers of products matching those sought by the customer bid for that customer's business. The system permits a customer to review a number of available products which exactly or closely match the desired item to narrow the scope of the search prior to the involvement of any representative of the seller.
