  • Publication number: 20150169706
Abstract: An iterative approach to detect outliers may automatically detect outliers in a data set. The iterative approach may include calculating a mean and an average deviation for a list. The iterative approach may further include calculating the deviations of values of a list if the average deviation is not zero. Any values where the calculated deviation of the point or value is greater than the mean may be selected. The selected points may be set as a second list. The second list may be used by the iterative approach until no points are selected for the second list. The previous list is the set of outliers from the data set.

  • Publication number: 20150130217
Abstract: An apparatus turns a front wheel of a vehicle inward during an offset frontal impact. The apparatus includes a first frame rail and a second frame rail spaced from each other. A bumper is supported by the first and second frame rails. A beam extends between and engages the first and second frame rails. The beam includes an extension extending from the first frame rail away from the second frame rail to a first end spaced from the first frame rail for being positioned forward of the front wheel and for being forced into the front wheel during the offset frontal impact.

  • Publication number: 20150092555
Abstract: A method for equalizing an average throughput of a plurality of wireless communication network access points is provided. Each access point having a respective average throughput value and at least one control parameter, the at least one control parameter controlling wireless connectivity at the access point. An average throughput value received from each of the plurality of access points is determined. A first wireless communication network access point for configuration is determined based on the average throughput values received from each of the plurality of access points. The at least one control parameter of the determined first wireless communication network access point is set to at least one threshold value to effect equalization of the average throughput values among the wireless communication network access points.

  • Publication number: 20140345091
Abstract: An article, for use in coupling a first member including a first material to a second member including a second material different than the first material, includes a clip having a first leg, a second leg, and a middle portion located between the first and second legs. The clip has an inner side including the first material and an outer side including the second material. The clip is aligned on one of the first and second members so the inner side of the clip contacts one of the first and second members and the outer side of the clip contacts the other of the first and second members.

  • Publication number: 20140229491
Abstract: Data sets are analyzed to discover trends and determine predictive data models. A data model is determined based on analyzing the data set with a specific algorithm from a set of different analytical algorithms. The data model is stored in a structural file format. The data model is converted into an instantiated object model with the use of a predefined object model. The instantiated object model is converted into an in-database analysis model to score new data within a database system. The scoring is based on the logic in the data model. The in-database analysis model is stored on a database server part of a database system to provide analytical functionality defined in the data model. The new data can be scored with the in-database analysis model. The new data is not extracted from the database system and the scoring is accomplished in-memory.

  • Patent number: 8561126
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for automatically enforcing obligations in accordance with a data-handling policy are disclosed. Requests by users for accessing data stored in a data repository are intercepted. A determination is made whether any obligations apply to each data item requested in accordance with the data handling policy. The determination may relate to whether rules having associated obligations identified in the data-handling policy apply to data items requested by a user. The obligations are automatically executed at an appropriate time after access of the data. Association of a data item requested by the user with an obligation may be recorded and tracked to determine the appropriate time for executing the obligation.

  • Patent number: 7984021
Abstract: Triggers are dynamically created and destroyed on an application database. Rules are represented in active databases as ECA (event-condition-action) items, in which an action formulates a reaction to an event and is executed after the rule is triggered when the condition is evaluated to true. The event is defined as an instantaneous and atomic (that is, the event either happens completely, or not at all) point of occurrence within an application. Events can be classified as either database, temporal, or user-defined events, and their type can be either primitive or composite.
