  • Publication number: 20240137536
Abstract: A process for determining the selection of filters and input samples is provided for scalable video coding. The process provides for re-sampling using video data obtained from an encoder or decoder process of a base layer (BL) in a multi-layer system to improve quality in Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding (SHVC). It is proposed that a single scaled reference layer offset be derived from two scaled reference layer offset parameters, and vice-versa. It is also proposed that a single scaled reference layer offset or a single reference layer offset be derived from a combination of a scaled reference layer offset parameter and a reference layer offset parameter.

  • Publication number: 20240135283
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for a multi-layer micro model analytics framework for analyzing or otherwise processing data. For example, a method comprises building two or more micro models respectively for two or more stages of a given process, wherein each micro model of the two or more micro models comprises a user interaction layer and a predictive learning layer that coordinate to train the micro model based on input to the user interaction layer and data accessible by the predictive learning layer for the corresponding stage of the two or more stages of the given process. The method then assembles the two or more micro models to perform analysis for the given process. In one non-limiting example, the given process is a new product introduction process and each micro model is built and trained to perform analytics for a specific lifecycle stage of the process.

  • Publication number: 20240138131
Abstract: A configurable cage of Faraday has a cavity enveloped by a layer of conductive material whose resistance can be modified by an external stimulus. The conductive material may be inside or outside a substrate or may be without a substrate. The layer may be continuous, or applied in a pattern, such as a mesh. The conductive material can be a perovskite or a phase-change memory material, and the external stimulus can be electrical. Various electrical pulses can be used to configure the resistance/conductivity of the material, and therefore the level of shielding from magnetic waves that the Faraday cage provides.

  • Publication number: 20240137271
Abstract: It is determined that a customer premises equipment (CPE) that provides data access to a local area network has been dynamically provisioned with a differentiated feature that is different from default features identified in a boot configuration from which the CPE obtains features during a boot phase of the CPE. A first CPE identifier of the CPE is determined and stored in a memory. Subsequent to storing the first CPE identifier in the memory, information that contains a second CPE identifier and that indicates that a CPE identified by the second CPE identifier has initiated a boot phase is received. It is determined that the second CPE identifier matches the first CPE identifier. Subsequent to the CPE initiating the boot phase, the CPE is caused to be dynamically provisioned with the differentiated feature.

  • Publication number: 20240130793
Abstract: In part, the disclosure relates to determining a stent deployment location and other parameters using blood vessel data. Stent deployment can be planned such that the amount of blood flow restored from stenting relative to an unstented vessel increases one or more metrics. An end user can specify one or more stent lengths, including a range of stent lengths. In turn, diagnostic tools can generate candidate virtual stents having lengths within the specified range suitable for placement relative to a vessel representation. Blood vessel distance values such as blood vessel diameter, radius, area values, chord values, or other cross-sectional, etc. its length are used to identify stent landing zones. These tools can use or supplement angiography data and/or be co-registered therewith. Optical imaging, ultrasound, angiography or other imaging modalities are used to generate the blood vessel data.

  • Publication number: 20240134531
Abstract: In a multi-tiered system, a read temperature classification and write temperature classification per virtual block (VLB) can be determined based on the content referenced by each VLB. The temperature classifications of VLBs can be determined using temperature scales which map read and write activity levels to corresponding temperature classifications. The temperature scales can have classification boundaries adjusted based on feedback of operations performed including down-tiering, garbage collection, and compaction and appending. In one use case, a number of free blocks in a high-performance first tier can be below a minimum and processing can be performed to locate a source block of the first tier partially filled with hot content, store the hot content contiguously on a target block of the first tier, flush write data from a log, and store the write data on the target block by appending the write data to the existing hot content.

  • Patent number: 11968570
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for handover of a user equipment (UE) from a serving base station to a target base station. A target base station may use one or more directional beams to establish wireless communication links with UEs within a coverage area of the target base station. Directional beams may create a narrow-beam, high-bandwidth connection with a UE in a limited geographic area. Handover procedures include some latency between when a target base station dedicates resources to a UE and when the UE executes a communication via those dedicated resources. To compensate for latencies in a handover procedure and for the geographic limitations of directional beams, a target base station may assign multiple directional beams to the UE during a handover procedure. Each directional beam may be associated with access parameters used by the UE to generate messages (e.g., a RACH message) during the handover procedure.

  • Patent number: 11968230
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for managing communication privacy in a conversation system are provided. The method detects an utterance on a public channel by a user of a computing device. A privacy nature of the utterance is determined. Based on the privacy nature, a classification confidence is determined for the utterance. The method generates a privacy question to be presented to the user based on the privacy nature and the classification confidence. In response to a confirmation response, a privacy channel is established. The method switches from the public channel to the privacy channel.

  • Patent number: 11966361
Abstract: With a forever incremental snapshot configuration and a typical caching policy (e.g., least recently used), a storage appliance may evict stable data blocks of an older snapshot, perhaps unchanged data blocks of the snapshot baseline. If stable data blocks have been evicted, restore of a recent snapshot will suffer the time penalty of downloading the stable blocks for restoring the recent snapshot. Creating synthetic baseline snapshots and refreshing eviction data of stable data blocks can avoid eviction of stable data blocks and reduce the risk of violating a recovery time objective.

  • Patent number: 11966626
Abstract: In one example, a flash storage device includes a flash memory and a controller. The flash memory includes non-volatile memory cells organized into blocks. The blocks are switchable between multi-bit mode and single-bit mode for storing data. The blocks in single-bit mode have a lower storage density and a higher write endurance than the blocks in multi-bit mode. The controller is configured to receive a write request from a host, and to determine whether a trigger event has occurred to switch one or more of the blocks from multi-bit mode to single-bit mode. Based on the controller determining that the trigger event has occurred, the controller is further configured to switch the one or more blocks from multi-bit mode to single bit mode, and to store, in single-bit mode, data for the write request in the one or more blocks at the lower data storage density.
