  • Patent number: 8041818
Abstract: A network of point of presence servers allows a customer to organize their web site by functions where functions are mapped into domain names. The functions have requirements that define what is needed by a server to satisfy the function. The domain names are mapped into resources or servers that can be addressed by the domain name and that satisfy requests for the function that domain name has been defined to support. This method of organization allows individual elements of a web page to be retrieved from different resources and gives the name server the control to direct users to an available and optimal server for a given resource.

  • Publication number: 20110201661
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel spiro derivatives of parthenin prepared by the dipolar cycloaddition of various dipoles viz, benzonitrile oxides, nitrones, azides, nitrile ylide diazoalkane, nitrile imide, ozone, azomethine imides, azomethine ylides etc. with exocyclic double bond of C ring (?-methylene-?-butyrolactone). Representative compounds have been screened for their anticancer activity against different cancer cell lines. ICs0 value of these analogues varies between 4.3 ?M to 93 ?M. A mechanistic correlation of their anticancer activity has been described. The results of the cytotoxicity test of the compounds studies indicated that the ?,?-unsaturated ketonic moiety in parthenin plays an important role in the maintenance of the high level of cytotoxicity.

  • Patent number: 7941483
Abstract: Control techniques support low latency display operations on thin client devices. In response to a request to render a page in a user interface, the control may distinguish fields that likely have immediately displayable content from fields that are unlikely to have immediately displayable content. The control may retrieve data for those fields that are likely to have immediately displayable content and render them in an initial page. Content for the fields that are unlikely to have immediately displayable content may be generated as a background process and may be rendered in supplemental page(s) as they become available. The control permits quick rendering of basic pages, which may include navigation functionality, and therefore promote early navigation operations or quick review of data which can be made immediately available.

  • Publication number: 20100136635
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recyclable method to prepare chirally pure epoxides directly from olefins using a novel chiral acid 2,3:4,6-di-O-isopropylidene-2-keto-L-gulonic acid monohydrate as chiral inducer and anhydrous hydrogen peroxide in the form of urea hydrogen peroxide adduct (UHP) as oxidant and lipase enzyme as catalyst. Under the influence of lipase, the chiral acid 2,3:4,6-di-O-isopropylidene-2-keto-L-gulonic acid monohydrate is converted to per-acid in situ by the oxidant urea hydrogen peroxide which in turn transfers oxygen to olefin inducing chirality to the product epoxide. Using this technique, important epoxide building blocks of different industrially important compounds can be prepared with good yield and moderate enantioselectivity. Chiral epoxidation of olefins with environment friendly catalytic system that can be recycled is highly desirable in the context of Green Chemistry for preparation of many industrially important compounds.

  • Patent number: 7545942
Abstract: Security key distribution techniques using key rollover strategies for wireless networks are described. A number of keys are generated, usually by an access point. The present invention allows a standard mode and a mixed mode. In standard mode, each device on the network supports automatic key updates. In mixed mode, one or more devices on the wireless network require fixed keys. In both modes, a predetermined number of keys are determined and communicated to client devices that are accessing the wireless network. The predetermined number is determined so that a client device can miss a certain number of authentication periods without losing communication with the wireless network. Preferably, transmit keys used by an access point are different than the transmit keys used by the client devices that support automatic key updates.
