  • Patent number: 5403616
Abstract: Printing is conducted at the transparent conducting film unnecessary portion on a substrate 1 with a masking ink having a higher thermal decomposition temperature than that of the transparent conducting film forming composition, and the ink is dried and cured by heat or light to form a masking pattern 2. The portion where a transparent conducting film is to be formed is preferably subjected to ozone cleaning and then coated with a transparent conducting film forming composition comprising an indium compound and/or a tin compound and a solvent to form a transparent conducting film forming composition layer 3. The thus worked substrate is subjected to a heat treatment, causing thermal decomposition of the masking pattern 2 after formation of a transparent conducting film. Then the residues of the masking ink and the transparent conducting film are removed to finally obtain a desired patterned transparent conducting film 4.

  • Patent number: 5242722
Abstract: This is to introduce a strain sensor of high quality and excellent durability. This strain sensor is composed of a basic metal body, a crystallized glass layer formed over the surface of the basic metal body, and a resistance element that changes its resistance value by strain changes and is built on the glass layer surface. By this structure, where the crystallized glass layer fired at a high temperature is employed, both of the composition, the basic metal body and the glass layer, are fused with each other at the boundary plane, making their adhesion very strong. No peeling between the basic metal body and the glass layer will take place even under the severe environmental conditions such as high temperature and heavy load.

  • Patent number: 5181947
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a glass fiber having a polygonal cross section is provided. According to the method, a glass fiber having an orbicular cross section is manufactured by drawing molten glass supplied into a crucible heated at higher temperatures than a softening point of glass out of a nozzle having an orbicular cross section heated at lower temperatures than the heating temperature of the crucible and at higher temperatures than the softening point of glass. Then, the glass fiber is passed through a slit of a twin roller, having a predetermined shape, whereby glass fibers having a polygonal cross section are successively manufactured. The twin roller is heated at slightly higher temperatures than the softening point of the glass.

  • Patent number: 5003324
Abstract: The present invention has an electrode for energization use of a thermal head having an unprecedentedly new electrode construction of a full peripherally surrounding type, so that one heating portion corresponds to one individual electrode without separation or independence of a heating resistor. Thus, the heating efficiency in the printing operation is improved to increase the thermal response property, thus making it possible to save the power. Furthermore, the full periphery surrounding electrode portion is adapted to be completely covered by the heating resistor to remove the dispersion of the resistance values of each dot responsible for the dispersion of the printing width of the heating resistor, and to completely provide uniformity by an energization overload trimming system.
