  • Publication number: 20090089492
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for implementing a polling process among one or more flash memory devices are described. In some implementations, the polling process may include sending a read status command to a flash memory device to detect the ready or busy state of the flash memory device. A status register may be included in the flash memory device for storing a status signal indicating an execution state of a write (or erase) operation. A solid state drive system may perform the polling process by reading the status register of the flash memory device.

  • Patent number: 6553173
Abstract: An installation structure for positioning and holding an optical fiber by means of a V-shaped groove formed on a substrate is disclosed. The V-shaped groove is divided into a positioning section and an alignment fixing section. The positioning section has groove width and depth for allowing the optical fiber to have a contact therewith. The alignment fixing section has groove width and depth larger than those of the positioning section to an extent for not allowing the optical fiber to have a contact therewith, when the optical fiber is disposed on the V-shaped groove.

  • Patent number: 6408121
Abstract: An optical communication module comprises an optical communication substrate provided with planar divided waveguides which are optically coupled with a light-receiving device for an optical communication, a light-emitting device for the optical communication, and another light-receiving device for monitoring a outputted light-power, wherein the planar divided waveguides have such a configuration that X-shaped branch waveguides are divided by a blind slit at a crossing thereof so that the crossing is removed, and an optical filter inserted into the blind slit. In the aforementioned optical communication module, the light-receiving device for monitoring the outputted light power can be allocated remote from as well as near the light-emitting device for the optical communication, hence a degree of freedom in mounting parts can be heightened.

  • Patent number: 6385375
Abstract: A structure shielding stray light at an optical waveguide module and an optical transceiver module used this structure, in which stray light circulated from an laser diode (LD) to a photo diode (PD) for receiving optical signals is shielded and the deterioration of the receiving sensitivity caused by the stray light can be prevented and improved, are provided. At the optical waveguide module used this structure, the upper surface of a waveguide substrate covered with a waveguide clad is covered with a metal deposition except an LD mounting area and a V shaped groove for mounting an optical fiber. The metal deposition being made of, for example, Au or WSi has a characteristic that does not make light of a wavelength band used in optical communication penetrate and reflects the light having the wavelength band used in the optical communication. The bottom surface and the side surfaces of the waveguide substrate are also covered with the metal deposition except a waveguide core part.
