    Abstract: In a modular wiper apparatus having a channel-type frame of a substantially U-shaped cross-section linking together a bracket to which a wiper motor is mounted and another bracket to which a wiper shaft is mounted, a coupler on the side of the wiper motor can be supported by the frame without reducing the strength of the frame. A mounting bracket 12 for mounting and supporting a coupler 10 thereon includes a surrounding portion 12b for movable mounting on a frame 7 until the portion 12b surrounds a part of the frame, and the location of the frame at which the coupler is to be mounted thereto is formed with engagement projections 7a engageable with the surrounding portion so as to restrain the movement of the mounting bracket in the longitudinal direction of the frame.

    Abstract: An automatic centrifugal clutch is arranged at the rear of an engine of a motorcycle, and a belt type continuously variable transmission and a gear type speed reduction device are arranged on opposite sides of the clutch whereby a space at the rear of the engine is effectively utilized, and a space for installing a kick starter is secured externally of the belt type continuously variable transmission. An output shaft of a reduction device and an intermediate shaft of the reduction device are arranged on opposite sides of a plane extending so as to include axes of a crankshaft and an input shaft whereby the longitudinal length of a power transmission device is shortened. An opening of a cooling air discharge passage is provided to face the automatic centrifugal clutch at the front end of the reduction device whereby the automatic centrifugal clutch can be effectively cooled while effectively utilizing the space.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a silver alloy foil for an interconnector of a solar cell. The silver alloy contains 10 ppm to 1,000 ppm of calcium; 10 ppm to 750 ppm of at least one element selected from the group consisting of beryllium, lanthanum and indium; balance silver and unavoidable impurities. The alloy is less susceptible to softening even when the solar cell is exposed to temperature cycling. If calcium is further added, the hardness does not decrease even with the passage of time, to thereby exhibit superior characteristics for a prolonged period of time.

The layer of the first fabric and the layers of the second fabrics are disposed in such a manner that warps of the first fabric and warps of the second fabric cross each other at an angle of 10.degree. to 80.degree., whereby an elongation of the diaphragm in a direction of the warps of the first fabric is generally equal to an elongation of the diaphragm in a direction inclined at an angle of 45.degree. relative to the direction of the warps of the first fabric.

    Abstract: A process for manufacturing a highly concentrated sulfate solution or slurry which comprises neutralizing a sulfuric ester of higher alcohol or its ethoxylate with an aqueous caustic alkali solution, thereby preparing a crude neutralization product containing the sulfate in the range of from 45 wt. % to 55 wt. % and the caustic alkali in the range of from 1.5 wt. % to 3.5 wt. % and having a viscosity less than 50 poise; and commingling the resulting crude neutralization product with the sulfuric ester in the range of from 30 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the crude neutralization product and a highly concentrated caustic alkali solution capable of sufficiently neutralizing the sulfuric ester, thereby reducing the quantity of sulfate contained in the resulting mixture in the range of from 60 wt. % to 75 wt. % and the quantity of caustic alkali contained therein less than 0.5 wt. % of the quantity of sulfate.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing a clear aqueous solution of the magnesium salt of an olefin sulfonic acid by (i) sulfonating an olefin with an gaseous sulfur trioxide, (ii) neutralizing the resulting sulfonated olefin with an inorganic alkali consisting of magnesium hydroxide and/or oxide and an organic amine selected from water-soluble alkanol amines in specified amounts and, then, (iii) heating the neutralized mixture at a pH of from 6.0 to 8.0. Thus, a clear aqueous solution of the magnesium salt of an olefin sulfonic acid having no bad odor and no color deterioration can be obtained.
