    Abstract: A female connector connected with a card member includes a contact and a housing. The contact includes a connecting part connected to a card edge terminal on one side and a wire mounting part integrally formed with the connecting part on the other side. The housing has a flat opening to which the card edge part is inserted on one side and an inserting part through which the wire is inserted on the other side. The housing has inside an interior space communicating with the flat opening and accommodates the card edge part, and includes contact accommodating parts oppositely provided with the interior space interposed therebetween. The interior space of the housing has on at least one spot a rib connecting one side and the other side of the contact accommodating part. This can prevent reduction in contact pressure between the contact and the card edge terminal.

The method can provide a card member having an excellent watertightness.

    Abstract: An electric connector includes a connector body 2 having contacts, and a connector housing 10. The connector housing 10 has a cavity 12, for housing the connector body 2, and an operation lever 16. The connector body 2 is inserted into the cavity 12, and the electric connector is engaged with another connector by rotating the operation lever 16. The connector housing 10 has a sensing member 13 on one of its sidewalls. The sensing member 13 resiliently changes its shape according to insertion conditions of the connector body 2, either rising from the sidewall or flat on the sidewall. The sensing member 13 detects the insertion conditions of the connector body 2 in the cavity 12. The operation lever 16 hits the sensing member 13 when the sensing member rises from the sidewall, and rotation of the operation lever 16 is blocked. With this configuration, connection between the connector body 2 having the contacts and the connector housing 10 that houses the connector body 2 is properly made.

The waterproof plug is united to the cable with an adhesive component. By connecting a terminal to the cable at a position nearer to one end of the cable than the portion where the waterproof plug is formed, a connector cable with a waterproof plug is obtained. The cable may be substantially circular in cross section or substantially rectangular in cross section, such as an FFC or FPC.
