  • Publication number: 20220334012
Abstract: An optical fiber measurement device includes a light source, a light detector, a direction-changing member, and a tension-applying member. The light source emits light toward an optical fiber. The light detector receives the light that has propagated through the optical fiber. The optical fiber is hung on the direction-changing member. The direction-changing member changes an extending direction of the optical fiber to extend downward, the optical fiber being optically connected to the light source and the light detector at each of two end parts of the optical fiber. The tension-applying member applies a tension to the optical fiber hanging from the direction-changing member.

  • Patent number: 10599157
Abstract: A movable object includes a sensing device for detecting traveling-route reflector on a travel surface so that a region outside a floor projection region of the movable object, in particular the traveling-route reflector forward, can be detected. Detecting the traveling-route reflector across a wide range of areas allows traveling control, such as gradual deceleration before entering a curve, speed regulation based on a turning radius at the curve so that centrifugal force on a rider or load is not too great. Also the movable object can detect a branch point or an intersection beforehand, decelerate, and notify the user for user's instruction regarding the traveling direction. Furthermore, for a movable object autonomously traveling with an item mounted thereon, a single sensing device detects the traveling-route reflector and also serves as a safety sensor for avoiding collision with any other objects therearound.

  • Patent number: 9921069
Abstract: The invention is intended to be able to generate map data even if a location not suited for identification of a matching position exists. A map data creation device creates map data, the map data being used for autonomous movement by a vehicle (1a), a vehicle (1b) and/or other vehicles (1), based on a relative position of the vehicle (1b) which exists around the vehicle (1a), relative to the vehicle (1a), the relative position being measured by the vehicle (1a), and object shape data of an object which exists around the vehicle (1b), the object shape being measured by the vehicle (1b). Moreover, the relative position of the vehicle (1b) relative to the vehicle (1a) is calculated based on the object shape data measured by the vehicle (1a).

  • Patent number: 9229450
Abstract: A route decision system is provided to avoid an obstacle existing in a traceably moving direction for tracing a reference route from a current location of an autonomous movable body. The system computes traffic distance and a traffic width as a traffic region having a given traffic width and does not allow an obstacle to intrude in each of a plurality of moving The moving direction of the autonomous movable body is decided on the basis of the traceably moving direction and the traffic region. A speed decision device decides a moving speed allowing the autonomous movable body to stop before it collides with the obstacle in response to the braking condition of the autonomous movable body and the location and the speed of the obstacle.

  • Patent number: 9041778
Abstract: To obtain an image processing device and a method of processing an image that improve distance accuracy and is capable of performing accurate distance even about an object at a greater distance than before, when a distance to an object is measured, one image object region 302 including an image of an object is extracted from one image of a pair of images imaged by a pair of imaging elements at the same time in the same direction. The degree of background that is likelihood of whether either an object image configuration part 304 or a background image configuration part 303 is calculated for each of a plurality of image configuration parts that configures the one image object region 302. Then, the other image object region 503 having an image similar to the one image object region 302 is extracted from the other image 501 using the degree of background, and a parallax between the one image object region 302 and the other image object region 503 is calculated.
