  • Patent number: 5513997
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a coupling equipment for connecting a pair of connectors which is capable of performing a perfect and sure coupling of the connectors by using a tow-step locking structure with a substantially low insertion force, yet capable of actively eliminating an imperfect preliminary connection of the connectors.

  • Patent number: 5511987
Abstract: There is provided a waterproof electrical connector including a male connector housing and a female connector housing for connection with the male connector housing. A hood portion is provided on one of the male connector housing and the female connector housing. A packing within the hood portion provides a waterproof seal for the connector. A packing press ring presses against and retains the packing within the hood portion. Vent hole portions are provided on a portion of the packing press ring that is abutted against the packing. During connection of the male connector housing with the female connector housing, compressed air exits via the vent hole portions. Thereby, an impingement sound or a touch feeling is strongly produced so that, during assembly, an operator easily detects whether the connector housings are in a fitted condition or a non-fitted condition.

  • Patent number: 5496187
Abstract: A lever connection type waterproofing connector includes a female connector housing, an engagement ring insertable into an inlet portion of the female connector housing, a sealing member, a lever rotatably supported on the female connector housing, and a male connector housing adapted to be connected to and disconnected from the female connector housing. To assure that the male connector housing can be properly connected to the female connector housing regardless of thermal deformation of the engagement ring, the waterproofing connector further includes two elongated cutout portions formed on the opposite sides of each receiving slit and extending in parallel with the receiving slit, two return stoppers disposed at the terminal ends of the cutout portions, two protuberances formed on the engagement ring, and two engagement portions integral with the engagement protuberance and having an engagement hole formed therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5482394
Abstract: A winding spring is preset in a connector, with its winding portion fit at an attaching shaft of the connector, in such a manner that its one end is engaged with the connector and its other end on the side of the fitting lever is engaged with a provisional locking protrusion provided on the connector. The fitting lever is rotated around a supporting shaft of the connector so that a sharp tip of a locking releasing body provided on the fitting lever releases the other end of the winding spring from the provisional protrusion, and the other end of the winding spring, because of its resilient returning operation, is engaged with a locking portion provided at the exterior of the locking releasing body. Thus, the winding spring can be mounted in the connector so that its lever side engagement end is surely engaged with the fitting lever.

  • Patent number: 5401179
Abstract: Disclosed is a locking mechanism for a connector assembly of low engaging/disengaging force type comprising a pair of connectors which are engaged with each other; an engaging drive lever having cam grooves and a lock engaging piece is swingably mounted on one of the connectors, and the other connector has driven pins which are engaged with the cam grooves, and a lock which includes a flexible locking piece formed upright in the outer wall of the other connector, and a lock releasing part extended from the free end portion of the flexible locking piece. After the connectors have been engaged with each other, with a locking protrusion of the lock engaging part engaged with the flexible locking piece the lock releasing part is depressed to move the flexible locking piece across the direction of a force of holding the connectors locked, to release the connectors from each other.
