  • Patent number: 4455327
Abstract: A first coating liquid 3 is applied to one surface of a continuously running web 1 and fluidity of the first coating layer is eliminated by an air blower 6, after which the web is float supported over a cylindrical blower 7 by static gas pressure. A second coating liquid 11 is applied to the opposite surface of the web in the vicinity of the float region by a freely falling curtain film 12 or by a pressure extruded jet film 15. spThis is a continuation of application Ser. No. 887,400, filed Mar. 16, 1978, now abandoned.

  • Patent number: 4024302
Abstract: In a method for continuously coating with a coating solution a plurality of running webs having discontinuous areas in the surface thereof, the improvement which comprises coarsening at least the surface of the web coated in the area of the web immediately following the discontinuous area of the web prior to the coating. The discontinuous areas in the surface can arise from the tape used to connect one web to another web or from projection in the surface of the web.

  • Patent number: 3972762
Abstract: A method for applying various coating liquids on the surface of a travelling web, such as plastic films, paper, metallic sheets, etc., with a discontinuity thereon, e.g., due to a connection of pieces of the web comprising preworking a web portion so that the web surface downstream of the discontinuity is coplanar to or higher than the maximum height of the discontinuity, whereby irregularities in coating of liquids are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 3955410
Abstract: A method for measuring a driving power by means of an induction motor is disclosed, in which a power drive apparatus to be measured is coupled to a rotary shaft of the induction motor, an electric current is fed to said induction motor while driving said induction motor into rotation at a speed higher than its rated r.p.m., and the driving power of said power drive apparatus to be measured is determined by measuring a voltage, current and r.p.m. of said induction motor.
