Patent number: 5906555Abstract: A hydraulic pressure control system for an automatic transmission is capable of reducing the size and simplifying the structure of a lockup controlling hydraulic circuit. An oil pressure output from a solenoid valve acts on an oil pressure chamber. The internal pressure of another oil pressure chamber becomes high only in a forward low-speed range and becomes low in all of the other gear shift ranges. The internal pressure of another oil pressure chamber becomes high only in forward ranges and becomes low in neutral and reverse ranges. The valve member moves in accordance with oil pressures applied to the oil pressure chambers to change over oil paths connected to a clutch control oil chamber and a torque converter oil chamber, whereby a lockup clutch assumes one of engaged, slip, and released states.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Shinya Sakaguchi, Kazushi Nakatani, Akira Takagi

Patent number: 5865704Abstract: To provide a hydraulic controller for automatic transmission use which commonalizes a lockup control valve and a friction engagement element control valve, thereby simplifying a hydraulic circuit, reducing the number of parts, and achieving low cost, a lockup solenoid to control engagement or release of a lockup clutch, a first friction engagement element to engage an friction engagement element only in a portion or entirety of a shifting stage to prohibit lockup, and a manual shift lever to determine whether a vehicle exists in a lockup prohibition condition are provided. A switching valve selectively switches the lockup solenoid to either communicate with the lockup clutch or communicate with the foregoing first friction engagement element. The manual shift valve is disposed in a path extending from the switching valve to the first friction engagement element.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1997Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Akira Takagi, Shinya Sakaguchi, Kazushi Nakatani

Patent number: 5836845Abstract: Hydraulic pressure applied to an LR/B is controlled by a first solenoid valve when a forward-movement range is selected, and is controlled by a second solenoid valve when a backward-movement range is selected. In addition, in the forward-movement range, the second solenoid valve controls hydraulic pressure applied to an OD/C which couples at a different gear position from the LR/B. When both solenoid valves fall into non-excitation states due to the breaking of an electric signal line, the failure of an AT ECU or the like, the output hydraulic pressures of the solenoid valves is held high and low, respectively. Therefore, even in this case, double coupling of the LR/B and the OD/C can be prevented in the forward-movement range as well as a predetermined gear position can be established in each of the forward-movement range and the backward-movement range.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1997Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Shinya Sakaguchi, Akira Takagi

Patent number: 5701982Abstract: A lockup control system for an automatic transmission is provided with an electromagnetic valve 11 and a spool valve 13. When the electromagnetic valve 11 is inactive, the spool valve 13 is set so that a pressure at an OFF port 171 of a torque converter 12 is higher than that of an ON port 172, thereby opening a lockup clutch mechanism 19. When the electromagnetic valve 11 is activated, its control pressure Pc becomes lower than a secondary pressure PL2and the spool valve 13 is actuated so that the control pressure Pc is supplied to a clutch control chamber 18. As a result, the lockup clutch mechanism 19 is closed, thereby setting the lockup state. At this time, the control pressure Pc acts directly on the clutch control oil chamber 18, so that the lockup clutch mechanism 19 is controlled with high precision.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1995Date of Patent: December 30, 1997Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazushi Nakatani, Akira Takagi, Hajime Yokoyama

Patent number: 5686944Abstract: In an ink jet printer, a print head includes (N+1) nozzles arrayed in the paper feed direction. The distance between the adjacent nozzles is K times as long as the dot line pitch P. N and K are each an integer larger than 2, and mutually prime. The quantity of ink droplet discharged from each nozzle is adjusted so as to form on a print paper, dots each having the diameter at least 1.4 times as long as the dot line pitch. An interlaced print as the combination of a print of paths made by the N successive upper nozzles of the print head and a paper feed of N print line pitches is used for the print on the most part of the print paper. A minute-feed print as the combination of a print of paths made by the N successive upper or lower nozzles of the print head and a paper feed of one print line pitch is used for the print on the upper and lower end areas of the print paper that reject a perfect print by the interlaced print.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1995Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Akira Takagi, Hiroaki Tojo, Shoichi Hiraide

Patent number: 5544538Abstract: A vehicular automatic transmission (AT) hydraulic controller has an integrated valve. The integrated valve has a cylindrical cam shaft including convex and concave parts on the outer periphery thereof, and the integrated valve is connected to a motor for automatic control and a connecting part which is interlocked with an external gearshift operated by a driver. Hydraulic control of the integrated valve can be performed in two different ways, i.e., automatic control and manual control, and even if automatic control malfunctions due to an error, manual control can maintain the control of the AT and avoid any inconvenience. The structure of this integrated valve provides a high degree of design freedom and can implement a wide variety of AT functions. Accordingly, a light, compact and reliable AT equipped with both an automatic control mechanism and a manual control mechanism can be provided.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1994Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akira Takagi, Fumiaki Murakami, Masami Fujutsuna, Kazuyuki Natsume, Masaru Suzuki, Toshihiro Takei
