  • Patent number: 5606432
Abstract: Image characteristics of a finally generated printed image that is reproduced from YMCK halftone dot percentage data from an image editor by an image output unit B are simulated highly accurately taking into account periodic noise and random noise, and the simulated image is outputted from an image output unit A. Specifically, the YMCK halftone dot percentage data from the image editor are converted into color image data corresponding to image characteristics of the image output unit B by an LUT combiner/converter, and periodic noise and random noise that can be produced by the image output unit B are applied to the color image data. The noise-applied color image data are then outputted from the image output unit A.

  • Patent number: 5341245
Abstract: An optical apparatus for image scanning for reading image information recorded on an original by irradiating the original with reading light and reading the light transmitted through or the light reflected from the original using a photoelectric converter. In the optical apparatus for image scanning, a light source irradiates the original with the reading light. A slit is disposed between the light source and the original so as to control a range where the original is irradiated with the reading light. Condenser lenses are disposed between the slit and the original so as to concentrate the reading light transmitted through the slit on an image reading portion of the original. The photoelectric converter receives the reading light from the original and converts the received light into an electric signal. Another condenser lens is disposed between the original and the photoelectric converter so as to converge the reading light from the original on the photoelectric converter.

  • Patent number: 5294406
Abstract: An apparatus for treating a waste solution which contains a nonvolatile substance such as a toner used for development of an electrophotographic film and a liquid which is difficult to volatilize at normal temperatures such as isoparaffin. The waste solution heated from below a multiplicity of vertically elongated guide chambers disposed in a waste solution container rises upward through the guide chambers in the form of vapor and is oxidized by a catalyst. After ignition, even if the heating of the waste solution by a heater is stopped, the waste solution in the waste solution container continues to be heated by oxidation heat.

  • Patent number: 5021312
Abstract: A charged film is exposed to light from an image to record the image as a electrostatic latent image on the film. A developer is then fed to the film so that the film is developed. The feed quantity of the developer to the film is controlled in accordance with the light quantity at the time of the exposure. A developing apparatus is equipped with a sensor for detecting light from an image and a circuit for controlling the feed quantity of the developer to the film. It is hence possible to avoid feeding of excess developer to the film.

  • Patent number: 4952980
Abstract: A processing head for use in an electrophotographic apparatus which is designed to bring successive frames of an elongated photosensitive material to a developing section. In the developing section a developing agent is supplied to develop the images on the successive frames. A small amount of this developing agent leaks out of the developing section through minute gaps between the structure of the developing mask and the photosensitive material. To remove this developer leakage a guide groove area is provided to substantially surround the developing mask. This groove area has an exhaust opening which opens to the external environment surrounding the processing head. Pressurized air is supplied to this guide groove area to blow the leakage developer out of the groove and out through the portion which is open to the external environment.

  • Patent number: 4913086
Abstract: A developing apparatus for bringing a film into contact with a frame portion which defines a developing chamber in such a manner that a surface of the film formed an electrostatic latent image is opposed to a developing electrode disposed in the developing chamber, and for developing the film under a liquid developer supplied to the developing chamber while applying a bias voltage to the developing electrode. The developing apparatus interrupts the application of the bias voltage to the developing electrode at the time of the contact. Consequently, discharge between the film and the developing electrode can be prevented at the time of the contact.

  • Patent number: 4875080
Abstract: A developing apparatus wherein a developer is supplied to an exposed electrophotographic film to develop an image formed on the film has a developing section provided with an electrode which is disposed in opposing relation to the film. A bias voltage of the same polarity as that of the film which is electrically charged is applied to the electrode to prevent fogging of the image. The bias voltage is lowered or made opposite in polarity for a relatively short period of time, thereby momentarily improving the adhesion of the developer to the film, and thus allowing the developer to reliably adhere even to a relatively low density portion of the image.

  • Patent number: 4809642
Abstract: A pipeline arranged so that any bubbles mixed in a liquid developer can be prevented from being delivered to a developing section. A main pipe through which the pumped developer flows is communicated at its lower end with a branched pipe. A branched pipe which is communicated with the developing section is connected to the branched pipe through a portion which is sloped downward in a direction in which the developer flows. Accordingly, air bubbles in the developer having reached the branched pipe are allowed to rise in the sloped portion to return to the branched pipe. There is therefore no fear of air bubbles being supplied to the developing section.

  • Patent number: 4727393
Abstract: A processing head for an electrophotographic apparatus has a developing section for developing an electrophotographic film with a liquid developer, and a drying section disposed adjacent to and on the downstream side of the developing section in the direction in which the film is advanced, to dry the film wetted with the developer by passing a gas in a direction that intersects the film advancing direction. The drying section is provided with a pair of frame members extending in a direction that intersects the film advancing direction so as to define both ends of the drying section in the film advancing direction. In addition, a pair of recesses are formed along opposing walls of the frame members, respectively. Accordingly, the flow rate of the gas passed through the recesses is higher than that of the gas passed along the other portion between the frame members.
