  • Patent number: 11370181
Abstract: Methods for manufacturing composite components having complex geometries are provided. In one exemplary aspect, a method includes laying up each of a plurality of laminates to an initial shape with a substantially planar geometry or a gently curved geometry. Then, a laid up laminate is formed to a final shape for each predefined section defined by the composite component to be manufactured. Thereafter, the laminates formed to their respective final shapes are stacked to build up the complex geometry of the composite component. Next, the composite component can be cured and finish machined as necessary to form the completed composite component.

  • Publication number: 20220142472
Abstract: A method of processing B-scans acquired by an OCT imaging system to generate correction data for compensating for axial displacements between B-scans caused by a variation in distance between the OCT imaging system and an imaging target, and to generate a reliability indicator indicative of a reliability of the correction data. The correction data is generated by determining, for each pair of adjacent B-scans, a respective indicator of an axial shift between respective representations of a common ocular feature in the adjacent B-scans. The reliability indicator is generated by: calculating values indicative of speeds or accelerations of the imaging target relative to the OCT imaging system when pairs of B-scans were acquired; where at least a predetermined number of calculated values exceed a threshold, setting the reliability indictor to indicate that the correction data is unreliable, and otherwise to indicate that the correction data is reliable.

  • Publication number: 20220142471
Abstract: A method of processing C-scan data, which comprises a sequence of B-scans of an imaging target acquired by an OCT imaging system, to generate correction data for compensating for axial displacements between B-scans in the sequence caused by a relative motion of the OCT imaging system and the imaging target that varies a distance therebetween during acquisition of the B-scans, the correction data being generated by determining, for each pair of adjacent B-scans of a plurality of pairs of adjacent B-scans in the sequence, a respective indicator of an axial shift between respective representations of a common ocular feature in the adjacent B-scans; and determining, from a variation of the determined indicators with locations of the corresponding pairs of adjacent B-scans in the sequence, a first frequency component of the variation which is indicative of the relative motion during acquisition of the B-scans.

  • Publication number: 20220130718
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to fabrication methods and resulting interconnect structures having stepped top vias that reduce via resistance. In a non-limiting embodiment of the invention, a surface of a conductive line is recessed below a first dielectric layer. A second dielectric layer is formed on the recessed surface and an etch stop layer is formed over the structure. A first cavity is formed that exposes the recessed surface of the conductive line and sidewalls of the second dielectric layer. The first cavity includes a first width between sidewalls of the etch stop layer. The second dielectric layer is removed to define a second cavity having a second width greater than the first width. A stepped top via is formed on the recessed surface of the conductive line. The top via includes a top portion in the first cavity and a bottom portion in the second cavity.
