  • Patent number: 9612252
Abstract: An ultrasonic airspeed and direction sensor system comprising an ultrasonic sensor array including an elongate base member for mounting to a vehicle, such as a helicopter, so as to extend outwardly from the vehicle. A number of radially extending support members are connected to the base member. The support members carry ultrasonic transducers arranged to define at least four bidirectional ultrasonic paths between respective pairs of the transducers, the ultrasonic paths being arranged into at least three non-coplanar sets. A processing system monitors the passage of ultrasonic signals along the paths to generate corresponding time of flight data, making a weighted selection containing at least one path from each of at least three sets, and processing the time of flight data for the selected paths, proportionate to the determined weighting, to generate airspeed and direction information.

  • Publication number: 20170093901
Abstract: Among other things, traces are received of activities of an online user who is associated with an entity. By analysis of the traces a security state of the entity is inferred. Also, a map is generated between (a) technical assets that contribute to security characteristics of respective entities and (b) the identities of the entities that are associated with the respective technical assets. At least part of the generating of the map is done automatically. A user can be engaged to assist in the generating of the map by presenting to the user through a user interface (a) data about the technical assets of entities and (b) an interactive tool for associating the technical assets with the identities of the entities.

  • Publication number: 20170094218
Abstract: A digital security surveillance system allows a user to store selected security surveillance feeds while the user is simultaneously watching or reviewing another feed. User control commands are accepted and sent through the system. The system parses the resulting digital stream and generates identifying information associated with at least one video segment of the digital stream. The video segments are stored on a storage device. When a security surveillance feed is requested for display, a corresponding stored digital stream is found and its video segments are extracted from the storage device and sent to a decoder that converts the digital stream into display output signals. The security surveillance feeds can be simultaneously sent to an external storage device such as a DVD recorder or VCR.

  • Publication number: 20170090474
Abstract: A drone safety mechanism that prevents autonomously controlled or human-in-the-loop drones from interfering with aircraft. A signal is generated at the center of an area to be maintained free of drone activity. The signal decays with distance from the source of the signal. A sensor onboard the drone is able to measure the signal itself, as well as the strength of the signal. When the signal strength passes above some threshold level, or the signal provides some other message, an intention is sent to the drone that forces the drone to stop and/or descend. The signal may be a preexisting signal, such as an electromagnetic signal emitted from a radar system atop an air traffic control tower. To prevent drones interfering with aircraft in flight, the signal may be emitted from the aircraft itself.
