  • Publication number: 20140352411
Abstract: A nebulizer for a charged aerosol detection (CAD) system is disclosed. The nebulizer is provided with a spray emitter for generating a spray of droplets within a central region of a spray chamber. The central region is separated from an upper region by a horizontally projecting rib, which defines a passageway between the central and upper regions. The major direction of droplet travel within the upper region is substantially reversed with respect to the major direction of droplet travel within the central region. Larger droplets are unable to negotiate the turn from the central to upper regions and impinge on a rear surface of the spray chamber. Removal of larger droplets has the advantageous effect of enabling the detector to sense a smaller range of particle sizes, which establishes a relatively steady electrical current at the detector.

  • Publication number: 20130319858
Abstract: An electrochemical detector includes a carbon based element located between a separator and a current collector of an adjacent electrode. Elements can take the form of a carbon fabric located between the separator and the collector, or a linear, or, circular carbon deposit on a surface of the separator adjacent to the respective current collector. Other conductive coatings including gold, platinum or transition metals, as well as carbon, can be deposited directly onto a porous substrate, such as a masked separator material.

  • Publication number: 20130283968
Abstract: A counterbalance system for a cantilevered beam pumping unit includes a counterbalance support structure adapted to be mounted in an operating position on the cantilevered beam of the pumping unit. A suspension element is connected to the counterbalance support structure so as to depend from a suspension end of the counterbalance support structure, and a counterbalance weight is connected to the first suspension element in a spaced apart relationship with respect to the counterbalance support structure. A stabilizer device is connected to the counterbalance weight via a first pivot connection and is connected to a structure separate from the counterbalance weight via a second pivot connection.
