Patent number: 10846509Abstract: A classifier engine provides cell morphology identification and cell classification in computer-automated systems, methods and diagnostic tools. The classifier engine performs multispectral segmentation of thousands of cellular images acquired by a multispectral imaging flow cytometer. As a function of imaging mode, different ones of the images provide different segmentation masks for cells and subcellular parts. Using the segmentation masks, the classifier engine iteratively optimizes model fitting of different cellular parts. The resulting improved image data has increased accuracy of location of cell parts in an image and enables detection of complex cell morphologies in the image. The classifier engine provides automated ranking and selection of most discriminative shape based features for classifying cell types.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2017Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignee: LUMINEX CORPORATIONInventors: Alan Li, Shobana Vaidyanathan

Publication number: 20170174410Abstract: The present invention provides a carton for a bag in box packaging. The carton has the overall configuration of a rectangular parallelepiped, with two pairs of opposing sidewalls and an upper end portion and a lower end portion, together defining a cavity for receiving a liquid holding bag. In the lower end portion there are a first pair of opposing flaps and a second pair of opposing flaps. The carton further has an opening extending through one sidewall in the lower end portion for dispensing liquid from a bag positioned inside the cavity. According to the invention the first pair of opposing flaps are foldable into an open position, in which the flaps extend outwards from the cavity to form a pair of legs. The legs are interlockable with a flap of said second pair of flaps so as firmly to fix the position of the legs with regard to the carton. The leg-forming flaps support the carton in an elevated position with respect to a surface thus facilitating dispension of liquid through the opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2016Publication date: June 22, 2017Inventors: Cyril Drouet, Alan Li

Patent number: 8330393Abstract: A system for time-sequential LED-string excitation includes a controller coupled to at least two LED strings and arranged to sequentially excite the strings—preferably by pulse-width modulating their respective currents—such that each string conducts a desired current and/or provides a desired light intensity. Individual string currents and/or light intensities are provided to the controller as feedback signals. The controller preferably pulse-width modulates each string such that it conducts a current which approximates the performance that would be provided if the string were made to continuously conduct an ‘optimal’ current. A voltage converter may be included to provide the supply voltage connected to the top of each LED string, and to adjust the supply voltage as needed to ensure that each string conducts a desired current.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2008Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: Analog Devices, Inc.Inventors: David Thomson, Ranajit Ghoman, Alan Li

Patent number: 7831633Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting an additional data source in a system adapted for processing data from one or more data sources are disclosed. A design-time driver for the additional data source is obtained, where the design-time driver supports the definition of data including one or more fields of the additional data source to retrieve from the additional data source. In addition, a run-time driver for the additional data source is obtained, where the run-time driver supports retrieval of data corresponding to the one or more fields from the additional data source and where the run-time driver has a second application programming interface. The design-time driver is executed via a first application programming interface, where the first application programming interface enables definition of the data including the one or more fields to be retrieved from the additional data source.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2004Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: Actuate CorporationInventors: Linda Chan, Peter Lai, Xiaojun Yang, Wenfeng Li, Paul Rogers, Alan Li, Derek Lai

Publication number: 20090259864Abstract: A system and method for maintaining values on output pads of an integrated circuit during entry, exit, and while a portion of the integrated circuit is in a power conservation or deep power down mode. The method for entering a power conservation mode includes determining a power conservation mode value which will be maintained at an output pad while a portion of an integrated circuit is in a power conservation mode. The power conservation mode value may then be selected for output and the power conservation mode value is held at the output pad. The portion of the integrated circuit to enter the power conservation mode is then electrically decoupled from the output pad. The portion of the integrated circuit may then be placed in the power conservation mode without output signal slighting while maintaining the output value.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2008Publication date: October 15, 2009Applicant: NVIDIA CORPORATIONInventors: Alan Li, Shifeng Yu
