  • Publication number: 20060081805
Abstract: In the treatment of water, an end piece is connected to a treatment cartridge housing and inserted into an appliance having bypass, inlet, and outlet valves. The end piece has an end piece wall from which an inlet fitting, outlet fitting, and protrusion extend. The inlet fittings, outlet fittings, protrusion, and cartridge housing each have a longitudinal axis. The inlet and outlet fittings have a cam surface for actuating the inlet and outlet valves, respectively. Further, the cam surfaces of the inlet and outlet fittings are angled and vectored in relation to their respective longitudinal axis. The protrusion is shaped for actuating the bypass valve.

  • Patent number: 6626160
Abstract: An engine includes air-assisted fuel injection including fuel injectors supplying fuel through cylinder head-mounted air injectors. An internal air passage in the cylinder head connects with internal air pockets receiving the injectors and supplying them with air. Seals on the air injectors prevent air leakage from the air pockets. The air temperature in the head is affected by an adjacent coolant passage.

  • Patent number: 5903879
Abstract: An employee eligible to participate in a pension plan is loaned up to the full employee contribution to the plan, thereby encouraging participation in the pension plan. This "Participation Loan" includes periodic payments to the employee until employment ceases, the employee retires, or the loan terminates. Data on the Loan, the pension plan assets, the employer, and the employee is kept by the lender. The employee must provide current information to the lender to prevent termination of the loan, at which point the loaned amount, plus interest, is due. Failure to provide current information causes an alarm that can lead to termination of the Loan. At termination, the loaned amount, plus interest, is preferably re-paid in a single payment. The Participation Loan can be secured or unsecured. The secured variant can use traditional assets for collateral or an existing balance in the defined contribution pension.

  • Patent number: 5205228
Abstract: A device for placing seed into the soil at a specific pitch in which radiating spikes of two star wheel formed discs are brought together by rotating the discs synchronously at an angle and that each of the radiating spikes has on its inner side a hollow channel forming an internal closed funnel when the spikes are brought together and opens when by further rotating the spikes move away from each other. The means for placing seed or small objects into the funnels consists of a hub disposed about the axis of rotation of the disc and mounted to rotate with the discs which hub is provided with cells adapted to receive the seed or the other small objects and to release them upon rotation of the discs so they can fall under gravity into the funnel. The device is particularly suitable for the sowing of seed in soil covered by a thick crop residue.
