  • Publication number: 20190025387
Abstract: A cooling system is provided. The cooling system is associated with a dynamic nuclear polarization system and configured to cool a sample to a temperature suitable for dynamic nuclear polarization to be carried out on the sample while the sample is in the cooling system. The cooling system includes a cryogenic chamber that includes a cryogenic fluid. The cooling system also includes a removable sample sleeve insertable within a portion of the cryogenic chamber. The removable sample sleeve is configured to define a sample path for the sample within the cryogenic chamber that is isolated from other parts of the cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20190003653
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a sealing system for a dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) system. In one embodiment, a system comprises: a reservoir including an inlet opening; an outer tube; and a tapered seal shaped to seal against the inlet opening and the outer tube, the tapered seal including: a first section removably coupleable to a second section; a through-hole formed by a first plurality of inner surfaces of both the first section and the second section, the through-hole shaped to encircle the outer tube; and a vacuum channel extending through, from an outer surface to an inner surface of the first plurality of inner surfaces, one of the first section and second section. In this way, the tapered seal may be coupled around the fluid passage without inserting a tip of the fluid passage through the through-hole of the tapered seal, thereby maintaining a sterility of the system.

  • Publication number: 20180103856
Abstract: A blood pressure measurement system is able to measure actual blood pressures. More specifically, the blood pressure sensor or sphygmomanometer is able to detect high frequencies that exist only between systole and diastole, and thus identify aspects such as micro-pulses associated with the opening and closing of an artery to achieve accurate blood pressure readings.

  • Patent number: 9874622
Abstract: A system and method for transporting a hyperpolarized substance is disclosed. A transport vessel for transporting such a hyperpolarized substance includes a vessel housing, a chamber formed within the vessel housing that is configured to receive a container holding a hyperpolarized substance, and an electromagnet configured to generate a magnetic containment field about the chamber when a current is supplied thereto, the magnetic containment field comprising a homogeneous magnetic field. The transport vessel also includes a non-magnetic power source to supply the current to the electromagnet and a control circuit configured to selectively interrupt the supply of current to the electromagnet so as to control generation of the magnetic containment field, with the transport vessel being magnetically inert when the supply of current to the electromagnet is interrupted by the control circuit.

  • Publication number: 20160249819
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved non-invasive sphygmomanometer which is able to calculate the quality of a blood pressure reading and display quality information to the user. More specifically the invention relates to a sphygmomanometer and the use of oscillometric readings to calculate the quality of the readings, and a quality indicator device for use with the same. The invention uses the identified relationship between the waveform quality from recorded oscillometric pulses and blood pressure (BP) measurement error.

  • Patent number: 9291336
Abstract: The present invention is a chandelier with a height adjustment system comprising a counterweight located within a pair of vertically positioned rails connected to a chandelier by two wires corrected to the top of the counterweight on one end and to the chandelier at the other. The counterweight is configured (weighted) such that it is close in weight to the chandelier such that the chandelier can be easily raised or lowered by moving the counterweight by hand down or up within the vertical rails. The pair of wires traverse up between the vertical rails over a first pair of pivoting pulleys located above the counterweight. The pair of wires further traverse over a second pair of pivoting pulleys located above the chandelier and then down to the top of the chandelier where each of the wires are connected.

  • Patent number: 9210141
Abstract: The system and method described herein for providing scorecards to visualize services in an intelligent workload management system may include a computing environment having a model-driven, service-oriented architecture for creating collaborative threads to manage workloads. In particular, the management threads may converge information for describing services, applications, workloads, in an information technology infrastructure. For example, a discovery engine may reference an identity vault to capture enriched models of an infrastructure, and a management infrastructure may then generate one or more scorecards that can be used to manage the infrastructure. In particular, the scorecards may provide information for tuning or otherwise controlling risk, complexity, cost, availability, and agility versus rigidness in the infrastructure.
