  • Patent number: 7547795
Abstract: A high activity and high selectivity silver catalyst comprising silver and, optionally, one or more promoters supported on a suitable support material having the form of a shaped agglomerate. The structure of the shaped agglomerate is that of a hollow cylinder having a relatively small inside (bore) diameter. The catalyst is made by providing the shaped material of a particular geometry and incorporating the catalytic components therein. The catalyst is useful in the epoxidation of ethylene.

  • Publication number: 20090110453
Abstract: A fuser member suited to use in a fusing apparatus of an electrostatographic image rendering device includes a substrate and an outer layer over the substrate. The outer layer includes a matrix material and filler particles dispersed in the matrix material. an outer layer comprising a halopolymer and filler particles. The filler particles have a particle size of less than about 1 micrometer and a particle hardness of greater than about 3 on a Mohs hardness scale and form no more than about 3 percent by volume of the outer layer. The outer layer comprising filler particles nonetheless may provide improved wear of the fuser member.

  • Publication number: 20090021832
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing wideband diffraction limited performance in an optical receiver. A first lens is constructed from a first material and has a first surface and a second surface. A second lens is constructed from a second material and having a first surface and a second surface. The second lens is positioned such that a first surface of the second lens faces a second surface of the first lens across a gap of air. A diffraction grating is applied to one of the first and second surfaces of the first and second lenses.

  • Publication number: 20090001712
Abstract: A pipe fitting arrangement in at least one embodiment comprises a pipe, a housing defining at one end an opening for insertion of an end of the pipe, a metallic grip ring and a sealing ring downstream the grip ring in the insertion direction of the pipe, the location of both the grip ring and the sealing ring between the housing and the pipe being defined by the housing, wherein the grip ring is provided with a first amount of first internal teeth directed toward the pipe in a first direction with a first inclination in the pipe insertion direction for engagement with the pipe, and with a second amount of second external teeth directed towards the housing in a second direction with a second inclination away from the pipe insertion direction for engagement with the housing. Further disclosed herein is a method for forming such a pipe fitting arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20080265610
Abstract: A motor vehicle is disclosed having front and rear roof panels and which can be moved from in use to stowed positions to change the style of the motor vehicle from a two box style to a convertible or pick-up style. A stowage mechanism for the rear roof panel having two interlinked four bar linkages is disclosed which allows a small linear actuator to produce the range of displacement required to stow the rear roof panel.

  • Publication number: 20080262683
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems for microprocessors to control a transmission power relay output with a latchdown mechanism in the event that either microprocessor decides it is appropriate to de-energize the relay. Advantageously, the present disclosure allows, for example, the transmission control to be performed by an existing dual microprocessor configuration instead of a custom-designed application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The microprocessor-based software is more easily updated or changed to add functionality. Further, the present disclosure minimizes unique development with respect to electronic transmission control with a less complex design.

  • Publication number: 20080150306
Abstract: A motor vehicle is disclosed having one or more seat assemblies each of which has an automatically stowable head restraint associated with it. Each head restraint is pivotally supported by a stowable rear roof panel and is biased into a stowed position in which it lies adjacent to the rear roof panel by a spring. A latch mechanism is used to hold the head restraint in a lowered position in which it depends downwardly from the roof panel for use by an occupant of the motor vehicle. The latch mechanism is automatically released by the process of stowing the rear roof panel or a front roof panel.
