  • Publication number: 20210299536
Abstract: A hitting practice device allows a batter to swing the bat, make contact with the device, and then to follow-through with the swing while maintaining contact with the device. In embodiments, the hitting practice device includes a pivoting base, a post connected to the base, a pad attached at the upper portion of the post, and a stopper that prevents the base from pivoting beyond a recovery angle. In other embodiments, the base includes a base plate and stabilization plate connected by a hinge. In embodiments, a pad and dampener absorb most of the initial impact of the hit, pausing the swing for analysis. The pivoting base then allows the batter to continue, follow-through and complete the swing.

  • Patent number: 11128373
Abstract: Various embodiments for a system and method for a range-enhanced high-speed free-space optical communication are described herein. Generally, the optical communication system may include a first modulator, a second modulator and an average-power limited optical amplifier. The first modulator may receive an input optical signal and generate a modulated optical signal. The second modulator may receive the modulated signal and may be operable to turn-off a select number of pulses in each modulated pulse frame of the modulated signal to generate a low-duty cycle modulated signal. The average-power limited optical amplifier may then generate an amplified modulated signal from the low-duty cycle signal, wherein the amplified modulated signal comprises a plurality of amplified pulse frames with each amplified pulse frame defining an amplified version of a corresponding each low-duty cycle pulse frame.

  • Patent number: 10931509
Abstract: A method for assessing completion of events in a network environment is provided. The method includes receiving a first event vector, generating a second event vector, machine matching the first event vector to the second event vector, and generating an output that includes a variable indicating whether an event corresponding to the first event vector is complete. If each of a plurality of first nodes of the first event vector matches a corresponding one of a plurality of the second nodes of the second event vector, the variable indicates that the event corresponding to the first event vector is complete. If at least one of the plurality of the first nodes of the first event vector is mismatched with the corresponding one of the plurality of the second nodes of the second event vector, the variable indicates that the event corresponding to the first event vector is incomplete.

  • Publication number: 20210013580
Abstract: The present application describes a method of tuning a printed device. The method includes measuring a frequency response of a target device and a device under tune (DUT). The method includes computing, based on the measured frequency response, a coupling matrix for the target device and a coupling matrix for the DUT. The method also includes extracting eigenvalues for the coupling matrix of the target device and a first set of eigenvalues for the coupling matrix of the DUT. The eigenvalues of the target device are different than the first set of eigenvalues of the DUT. The method further includes tuning the DUT with a material removal source. The method even further includes measuring a second set of eigenvalues of the DUT. The second set of eigenvalues is different from the first set of eigenvalues of the DUT. The method yet even further includes calculating a tune path for iterative convergence of the second or a subsequent set of eigenvalues of the DUT with the eigenvalues of the target device.

  • Publication number: 20200383866
Abstract: An apparatus that enables most common rollers to be utilized to apply shear force to a user by placing a roller into a pair of braces which each include a base support structure which is configured to receive a roller, wherein each base support structure has a rotation prevention mechanism which may be utilized to brace the roller, so that when a user applies a lateral force to the roller, the roller does not noticeably rotate. Each brace prevents rotation in one direction, so when each brace is oriented in a different direction, the roller is thereby prevented from rotating in either direction.
