    Abstract: A pedicle access system including a cannula, a stylet, and a removable T-handle. The pedicle access system may be used to percutaneously approach the pedicle, initiate pilot hole formation, and conduct a stimulation signal to the target site for the purposes of performing a pedicle integrity assessment during the pilot hole formation. To do this, the cannula and stylet are locked in combination and inserted through an operating corridor to the pedicle target site, using the T-handle to facilitate easy movement and positioning of the cannula/stylet combination. A stimulation signal may be applied during pilot hole formation to conduct the pedicle integrity assessment. In a significant aspect, the T-handle may be detached from the cannula/stylet combination to facilitate the use of various surgical tools as necessary.

The detachable brush head system is capable of directing particular wavelengths of light to the oral cavity, producing visible fluorescence when incident upon certain biomaterials that are indicative of the presence of various dental conditions. The intraoral camera head is capable of directing the same wavelengths of light to the oral cavity to produce the same fluorescing effect and can be used to closely inspect or record the presence of harmful biomaterials indicative of dental health.

    Abstract: A postural sway analysis system is disclosed. The system includes a camera worn by an individual, a processing unit coupled to the camera, a floor marker placed on a floor near the shoes or feet of the individual. The camera is configured to acquire images of the floor marker, which has a known size or diameter, while the individual is standing. The processing unit is configured to capture an initial calibration image of the floor marker using the camera while an individual is standing still to determine the distance between the camera and the floor marker. The processing unit is further configured to capture subsequent time-varying images of the floor marker while the individual is standing (and swaying). Furthermore, the processing unit is configured to compare the calibration images to the subsequent time-varying images to determine a postural sway of the individual.
