    Abstract: Flexible, substantially dry, disposable article suitable as a personal care article for cleaning and conditioning skin, sanitizing and disinfecting hard surfaces, methods of manufacturing and using the same wherein the article comprises: a first water insoluble flexible nonwoven thermoplastic outer layer having an outer and inner surface; a core layer containing a treatment composition adapted for cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting hard surfaces or for personal cleaning and conditioning and a second water insoluble flexible nonwoven thermoplastic layer having an outer and inner surface positioned so its inner surface is opposite the inner surface of the first layer; the core layer having been mechanically bonded by needling to and between the first and second layers so as to form a unified article having pin dot perforations of an average pore opening size of less than 300 microns and preferably less than 100 microns in diameter formed by the needling extending through all three of said layers.

    Abstract: A recharge insert, for use with a spray dispenser device, is made of a matrix material impregnated with a chemical that is dry-to-the-touch and becomes dissolved in solution with a diluent fluid such as water. The recharge insert is formed in an elongated cylindrical shape with a center opening for mounting on the standard plastic downtube of the spray dispenser device. The insert sleeve may be formed with a side slit to open and wrap it around the downtube. When the spray bottle is filled with water, sealed, and shaken, the fluid penetrates into the matrix material, and the chemical composition becomes dissolved in solution, thereby creating a cleaning, sanitizing or disinfectant solution that will remain stable and fully active in use. The matrix material can be mounted on a hollow tubular carrier with lower spacer legs, or affixed to an upper retaining disk that is seated on the container neck for holding the insert clear of the lower intake end of the tube.

    Abstract: A substantially flexible, dry matrix with antimicrobial properties is made from a matrix comprising natural or synthetic, woven, non-woven or knitted fibers, said matrix having been uniformly coated with an amount of a non-aqueous treatment solution sufficient to allow said matrix to retain its substantially dry characteristics. In a preferred embodiment, said non-aqueous treatment solution has between about 70% and 99% of at least one glycol compound, between about 1% and 15% of a PVP-iodine and optionally between about 0 and 15% of a non-ionic surfactant.Also, skin is treated to prevent disease, such as the disinfecting of teats on dairy cows during milking, by wiping the skin with the article.
