Abstract: This document describes biochemical pathways for producing 6-hydroxyhexanoic acid using a monooxygenase to form a 7-hydroxyoctanoate intermediate, which can be converted to 6-hydroxyhexanoate using a polypeptide having monooxygenase, secondary alcohol dehydrogenase, or esterase activity. 6-hydroxyhexanoic acid can be enzymatically converted to adipic acid, caprolactam, 6-aminohexanoic acid, hexamethylenediamine or 1,6-hexanediol. This document also describes recombinant hosts producing 6-hydroxyhexanoic acid as well as adipic acid, caprolactam, 6-aminohexanoic acid, hexamethylenediamine and 1,6-hexanediol.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of printing a radiation-curable ink composition on a substrate. A radiation-curable ink composition is deposited onto a substrate. The radiation-curable ink composition comprises a photoinitiator in an amount of not more than about 4.5 weight %. The deposited ink composition is irradiated with UV radiation. The irradiated ink composition is heated to a temperature of at least about 75 degrees C. The UV radiation is from an LED source or is centred at a wavelength selected from the group consisting of 375 nm, about 385 nm and about 395 nm.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for reducing condensed humidifying agent in a humidification system by pulsing a delivery of humidifying agent into a respiratory circuit. During a non-pulsed interval, gas flowing through the respiratory circuit will evaporate the condensed humidifying agent present in the respiratory circuit. The present invention also provides a method and apparatus for delivering humidified gas to a patient, wherein the delivery avoids the problems associated with a stationary water humidifier. In the method, the delivery of humidifying agent is precisely controlled to deliver a flow of humidifying agent to a volume of gas.

Abstract: Example embodiments may relate to a robotic system that includes a hydraulic actuator and an electric actuator both coupled to a joint of the robotic system. Operation of the actuators may be based on various factors such as based on desired joint parameters. For instance, such desired joint parameters may include a desired output torque/force of the joint, a desired output velocity of the joint, a desired acceleration of the joint, and/or a desired joint angle, among other possibilities. Given a model of power consumption as well as a model of the actuators, the robotic system may determine operating parameters such as hydraulic and electric operating parameters as well as power system parameters, among others. The robotic system may then control operation of the actuators, using the determined operating parameters, to obtain the desired joint parameters such that power dissipation in the system is minimized (i.e., maximizing actuation efficiency).

The traffic scheduling device includes: a plurality of interconnected memory cluster units. Each memory cluster unit is associated to a single or more levels of the hierarchical scheduling database and each memory cluster unit is coupled to at least one co-processors. At least one co-processor is software-programmable to implement a scheduling algorithm. The traffic scheduling device also includes an interface to the plurality of traffic flow queues.

Abstract: A technique for enrolling an individual for a service is described. During this enrollment technique, a match between an identifier provided by and associated with the individual is determined with an existing identifier associated with another service. If there is a correspondence between the service and the other service, enrollment information from the other service is used in an enrollment process for the service, which allows a subset of the enrollment process to be performed. Otherwise, the full enrollment process for the service is performed. In this case, reconciliation of the identifier and the existing identifier (for example, asking the individual if they also use the other service) is delayed until after the enrollment process is completed.
