  • Publication number: 20160242141
Abstract: A method for assisting a mobile device to perform positioning measurements on positioning signals periodically transmitted by at least some of a plurality of cells in a wireless communication network includes receiving cell information. The cell information is measured or otherwise obtained by the mobile device and includes measurements/data pertaining to one or more of the plurality of cells in the wireless communication network. The method includes generating assistance data to include an assigned frequency channel number for use by the mobile device for performing the positioning measurements based on the received cell information. The assistance data is then sent to the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20160077185
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed aggregate a plurality of crowdsourced measurement sets for antennas received from a plurality of Mobile Stations (MS) with a Base Station Almanac (BSA), based on a measurement location estimate and a measurement location uncertainty estimate associated with each measurement set. A map comprising a plurality of map layers may be obtained, where each map layer associates locations in the BSA with spatially variable Forward Link Calibration (FLC) values for the antenna derived from the updated BSA data, wherein each spatially variable FLC value is associated with a corresponding location in the updated BSA data. Map layers, which may also include multipath map and/or received signal strength layers, may be provided to MS? as location assistance data.

  • Publication number: 20160080106
Abstract: One or more sequences of binary values may be generated based on a length L and a duty cycle D, wherein duty cycle D denotes a percentage of a number of bits of value one in length L. Then, based on an identity of a cell, a sequence may be selected for use by a base station in muting its transmission of a positioning signal. The sequence which is selected may be used directly in muting with no change therein, or may be elongated followed by use of an elongated sequence in muting. When specific occasions are muted in the positioning signal, a mobile device may measure times of arrival of other positioning signals that are not muted. Two such measurements of arrival times may be used to compute a difference there between, for use as a difference measurement in a procedure to determine a location of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20150195674
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are described for estimating delay difference between two receive chains of a mobile device. The mobile device receives a first signal from a base station using a first receive chain, and receives a second signal using a second receive chain from a common, remote timing source for the base station and the mobile device. In addition, the mobile device obtains a transmit delay parameter associated with the base station and estimates, based at least in part on the transmit delay parameter, an offset value corresponding to a difference between amount of time for the first signal to pass through the first receive chain of the mobile device and amount of time for the second signal to pass through the second receive chain of the mobile device. The mobile device may store the offset value for subsequent use in estimating its position.

  • Publication number: 20140365182
Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems and methods enable a user to receive feedback regarding a computer-implemented design of an architectural structure as the user is designing or otherwise modifying the computer-implemented design using a computer-aided design (CAD) software tool. The feedback (hereafter also referred to as “design feedback”) may provide the user with useful analysis information regarding the architectural structure's predicted characteristics (e.g., operational performance, resource consumption, cost, etc.) based on the current state of the computer-implemented design. As the user performs one or more actions on the computer-implemented design model (e.g., through the CAD software tool), particularly with respect to the geometry or texture of the computer-implemented design model, systems and methods can provide the impact of those actions, possibly at or near the time the actions were executed (e.g., at or near real-time).

  • Publication number: 20140303940
Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems and methods that can be configured to analyze implementing one or more conservation measures (CMs) to an architectural structure, which can include proposing one or more sequences for implementing the conservation measures. Some embodiments may assist in identifying which conservation measures to implement, determining benefits of implementing selected conservation measures, or planning implementation of selected conservation measures. Those conservation measures selected for implementation may be part of a retrofit plan intended for an architectural structure to improve utility usage by that architectural structure. Accordingly, certain embodiments can help in assessing risks of a retrofit plan, or determining the time, scope, budget, or quality of the retrofit plan.
