Publication number: 20220118346Abstract: A store-based board game allows a player can earn tokens and move those tokens about the board to occupy as many departments of a store as possible. Tokens may move to unoccupied departments or take over occupied departments based on provided game rules. Tokens may be exchanged for medium sized tokens, which may ultimately be exchanged for a large token. Store resources are earnable by the players, where such resources can be used for various purposes, such as earning additional resources, trading with other players, or as a requirement to win the game based on a card drawn initially by each player, indicating the required resources, along with the large token, required to win the game.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2020Publication date: April 21, 2022Inventors: Alexander Ross, Maximus Ross

Publication number: 20150324369Abstract: Methods and systems generate deep metadata associated with media content. The deep metadata may be used, for example, by media content recommendation systems. In one embodiment, a database includes a plurality of media files that are each associated with respective data models and metadata sets. A new media file is categorized by microgenre and automatically analyzed to generate a new data model. The new data model is compared to the database to determine a particular data model stored therein that satisfies a similarity threshold. In one embodiment, the comparison is limited to data models that are associated with the same microgenre as that of the new media file. A set of metadata associated with the particular data model stored in the database is then assigned to the new media file. In an example embodiment, the new media file is an audio file and the database is a music database.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2015Publication date: November 12, 2015Inventors: Alexander Ross, Norman Friedenberger, Andreas Spechtler

Patent number: 8527435Abstract: A novel Levenberg-Marquardt like second-order algorithm for tuning the Parzen window ? in a Radial Basis Function (Gaussian) kernel. Each attribute has its own sigma parameter. The values of the optimized ? are then used as a gauge for variable selection. Kernel Partial Least Squares (K-PLS) model is applied to several benchmark data sets to estimate effectiveness of second-order sigma tuning procedure for an RBF kernel. The variable subset selection method based on these sigma values is then compared with different feature selection procedures such as random forests and sensitivity analysis. The sigma-tuned RBF kernel model outperforms K-PLS and SVM models with a single sigma value. K-PLS models also compare favorably with Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LS-SVM), epsilon-insensitive Support Vector Regression and traditional PLS.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2011Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: CardioMag Imaging, Inc.Inventors: Long Han, Mark Embrechts, Boleslaw Szymanski, Karsten Sternickel, Alexander Ross

Patent number: 7840581Abstract: Methods and systems verify and control the quality of metadata associated with a media data file. The metadata may be used, for example, by media content recommendation systems. In one embodiment, a first attribute is selected from metadata associated with a media data file and an attribute dependency corresponding to the first attribute is determined. The metadata may be searched to determine whether it includes a second attribute that satisfies the dependency. If the dependency is not satisfied, the metadata is flagged for reevaluation. The metadata may also be flagged for reevaluation, for example, if the metadata includes inconsistent attributes, if the total number of assigned attributes within the metadata does not exceed a predetermined value, or if an expected attribute dimension is missing or does not include an expected number of defined attributes. In certain embodiments, user selections are controlled to provide consistent attribute combinations.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2008Date of Patent: November 23, 2010Assignee: RealNetworks, Inc.Inventors: Alexander Ross, Björn Steffens, Norman Friedenberger, Andreas Spechtler

Publication number: 20080001608Abstract: An EIT system includes a plurality of voltage sources for supplying a corresponding plurality of voltages to a corresponding number of other structures, voltage source calibration means for calibrating each voltage source, and switching means for individually connecting the calibration means to each voltage source in succession during a period when each other structure is in an inactive condition. Calibrating respective voltages and currents for each voltage source compensates for shunt impedance of each voltage source. A method for calibrating the system includes individually connecting the calibration means to each voltage source in succession during a period when each other structure is in an inactive condition for calibrating all of said voltage sources in the same way.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2005Publication date: January 3, 2008Inventors: Gary Saulnier, Ning Liu, Alexander Ross
