  • Patent number: 11026172
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for establishing communications with one or more devices. In one aspect, a first device generates a wake-up radio (WUR) frame, the WUR frame including a media access control (MAC) header and a frame check sequence (FCS) having a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) or a message integrity check (MIC). The first device may determine the FCS based, at least in part, on the MAC header and basic service set identifier (BSSID) information associated with the first device. The first device may output the WUR frame for transmission to one or more devices. A second device may receive the WUR frame from the first device and determine whether the WUR frame is directed to the second device based, at least in part, on comparing the FCS of the WUR frame with a calculated FCS.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communication, and particularly, methods, devices and systems for multi-link operation. In some aspects, a first WLAN device (such as a non-AP STA) may establish with a second WLAN device (such as an AP) a multi-link association by which the first WLAN device can simultaneously transmit information to the second WLAN device via a first wireless communication link and a second wireless communication link. The first WLAN device may coordinate contention for the first wireless communication link by a first WLAN interface of the first WLAN device to be concurrent with contention for the second wireless communication link by a second WLAN interface of the first WLAN device.

  • Publication number: 20210160958
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communication, and particularly, methods, devices and systems for multi-link operation. A first wireless local area network (WLAN) device (such as an AP) may establish a multi-link association between the first WLAN device and a second WLAN device. The multi-link association may coordinated by an upper media access control (U-MAC) layer of the first WLAN device that is capable of transmitting data to the second WLAN device via a first wireless communication link using a first WLAN interface and a second wireless communication link using a second WLAN interface. This disclosure provides several alternatives for handling packet numbering and fragmentation at the U-MAC layer or at each of the first WLAN interface and the second WLAN interface.

  • Publication number: 20210144778
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for priority access on a shared wireless channel. A priority station (STA), an access point (AP), or a network operator may activate a priority access service. The priority access service provides priority access to authorize priority STAs by allowing them to use more aggressive contention parameters for contention-based access of the wireless channel as compared to other STAs. In some implementations, non-priority STAs may be configured with weakened contention parameters to increase or ensure the likelihood that a priority STA will win contention for access to the wireless channel.

  • Patent number: 10986505
Abstract: Techniques for improved spatial reuse for wireless local area network (WLAN) networks are described. An access point (AP) may win a contention to a wireless medium and obtain a transmission opportunity (TXOP). The AP may perform a procedure to identify a group of un-managed APs for participation in spatial reuse opportunities for synchronous transmission over the TXOP. The AP may perform the procedure using over-the-air signaling. The AP may transmit a spatial reuse (SR) poll frame to one or more un-managed APs of the network, either sequentially or as part of a multiple-AP procedure. The AP may receive an SR response frame, or directly measure potential interference of a station (STA) serviced by one or more un-managed APs, and select a group of APs for coordinated reuse over the TXOP. The AP may select the group of APs based on one or more criteria for coordinated reuse.

  • Publication number: 20210112451
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for identifying frames or packets of data that were received in error (such as incorrectly decoded or not received at all) by a receiving device for purposes of retransmission. In one aspect, a wireless device may form a number of frames for wireless transmission. Each of the frames may include a frame header and may be associated with a unique sequence number. In some implementations, for each of the frames, the wireless device may embed at least a portion of the unique sequence number into a portion of a control field or a delimiter field of the frame header. In some other implementations, for each of the frames, the wireless device may signal at least a portion of the unique sequence number using bit locations unassociated with a sequence number field of the frame header.

  • Patent number: 10972962
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling basic service set (BSS) identifiers (BSSIDs). A group of BSSs may form a Multiple BSSID set in which one BSS sent management frames on behalf of other BSSs (referred to as non-transmitting BSSIDs). For example, a management frame (such as a Beacon Frame or Probe Response Frame) may include a list of BSSIDs for some or all of the non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. An indicator in the management frame may indicate whether the management frame includes a partial list or complete list of non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. The management frame may include a count or bitmap to indicate the quantity of BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. A station (STA) may indicate which BSSIDs it has discovered and request the remaining BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set.

  • Publication number: 20210068008
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a device participating in a setup procedure to efficiently propose a range of values for a negotiated parameter. The techniques may reduce setup time, for example, allowing a responder to accept a value within the proposed range which may eliminate overhead associated with some of the back and forth message exchange of typical negotiations.

  • Publication number: 20210058981
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for synchronized channel access. Some implementations more specifically relate to facilitating coexistence among wireless communication devices that support synchronized channel access and those that do not. A group of access points may schedule periodically recurring, synchronized channel access periods by periodically transmitting quiet elements. The quiet elements establish recurring quiet periods during which legacy devices are not permitted to transmit. In some implementations, an access point may transmit one or more quiet override elements each associated with a respective quiet element and indicating to other access points supporting synchronized channel access that they are permitted to contend for access during the respective quiet period.
