  • Patent number: 4061951
Abstract: A transistor circuit including a capacitor charging circuit and an actuator such as an electric motor provides a two part cyclic timing circuit, one part being one complete revolution of the motor and the other part being the charging time of the capacitor. The entire device is designed to run for an extended period on two dry cells. Practically no current is drawn while the motor is at rest contributing to a long battery life.

  • Patent number: 4026611
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for a spindle including a bush having tapered ends and members having internally tapered surfaces arranged to cooperate with the tapered ends, and means to clamp the members towards one another upon the bush to support a spindle passing through the bush.

  • Patent number: 4009329
Abstract: Cellulose ethers which are resistant to enzyme catalyzed hydrolysis can be prepared by using a mixture of sodium and lithium hydroxides as the catalysts in conjunction with etherification reagents, such as, epoxides or alkyl halides.

  • Patent number: 4005640
Abstract: A hydraulic booster is disclosed which includes a piston which is actuated by fluid pressure communicated into the booster working chamber from an accumulator by a spool valve. An operator actuated input rod generates fluid pressure in a control chamber when the booster is actuated. The pressure generated in the control chamber shifts the spool valve to a position admitting fluid pressure in the working chamber. An exhaust passage including a relief valve communicates said accumulator chamber with said control chamber. The accumulator includes a piston adapted to bias the relief valve into its open position when the fluid pressure level in the accumulator chamber is below a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 3967538
Abstract: A hydraulic booster is disclosed which includes a control valve comprising a sleeve-shaped spool and a control piston slidably mounted at one end of said spool. The control piston projects into a control chamber filled with hydraulic fluid and in which are movable an operator-operated input member and an output member connected to a boost piston slidably mounted in a working chamber. The pressure generated in the control chamber shifts the control piston and the spool to a position admitting fluid pressure from a pump into the working chamber. The ratio of the effective areas of the control valve respectively submitted to the control pressure and to the pressure prevailing in the working chamber is about two.

  • Patent number: 3940463
Abstract: Apparatus for curing a tire repair wherein an electrical heater pad is placed against the repair area on the inside of the tire, and is supported by a flat air bag which lies against the inside of the tire, and is supported by a sausage-shaped air bag. Another electrical heater pad is placed against the repair area on the outside of the tire, and is held against the tire by another flat air bag which is held against the tire by straps passing around the tire cross-section. A buckle is shown which allows the straps to be pulled up as tight as possible by hand; the bags are then inflated to hold the heater pads firmly against the tire. The repair is then cured by passing currents through the heater pads.

  • Patent number: 3935608
Abstract: An article of clothing having a pocket portion containing an inflatable envelope, and a compressed fluid container for inflating the envelope whereby, upon inflation, the envelope is forced out of the pocket portion, the article of clothing being particularly suitable during times of emergency in the water when a wearer of the clothing enters the water and requires an immediate additional buoyancy aid.
