  • Publication number: 20250048261
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for NES (network energy savings) operations in a network. A network node may transmit to user equipments (UEs) an indication about an NES operation activation for one or more cells. The UE(s) may send a reconfiguration request to modify the NES operation for one or more cells, for example to avoid a degradation in service that may negatively impact key performance indicators or quality of experience. In response, the network node may modify the NES operation. The network node may then send an updated indication about the modified NES operation for the one or more cells.

  • Patent number: 12219379
Abstract: Systems and methods for relaxed inter-frequency measurements are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for relaxing inter-frequency measurements includes receiving an indication that frequencies should have relaxed inter-frequency measurements; and relaxing the inter-frequency measurements for the indicated frequencies. In this way, in some embodiments, the wireless device relaxes measurements on that frequency only when the network indicates that relaxed measurements may be applied to the inter-frequency. This implies that legacy measurement performance and mobility is retained. The measurements can be relaxed when the network is aware of spotty coverage on certain frequencies. Furthermore, the network has explicit control over the relaxation, e.g., the network can indicate how much the measurements may be relaxed, i.e., there can be a guarantee for a minimum measurement performance.

  • Publication number: 20250023700
Abstract: Embodiments herein may relate to a method performed by a UE (10) for determining a start position of a SI window to acquire a SI message in a wireless communication network (1). One or more SI messages are scheduled using a first or a second list of scheduling information. The UE (10) determines, if the SI message is scheduled using the first list of scheduling information, the start position of the SI window based on a location of the SI message in the first list of scheduling information. The UE (10) determines, if the SI message is scheduled using the second list of scheduling information, the start position of the SI window by taking a received input parameter into account, wherein the received input parameter is indicating the start position of the SI window used for acquiring the SI message.

  • Publication number: 20240381440
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling energy efficient Random Access Channel (RACH) are provided. A method performed by a network node includes one or more of: being configured with an original RACH configuration; receiving a preamble in a RACH Occasion; dynamically changing a RACH-configuration period and/or RACH frequency multiplexing configuration according to whether a preamble was received; reconfiguring to a performance optimized configuration; starting one or more timers: keeping the current RACH configuration until the timer(s) reaches the specified time; if fewer than a threshold preambles are received, reconfiguring with the original PRACH configuration; and if more than a threshold preamble are received, resetting and/or restarting a running timer. An energy efficient RACH configuration allows the network node receivers to have a longer sleep time and operate over a narrower bandwidth. As such more energy is saved when the network is in idle mode and there are no/little RACH attempts.
