Patent number: 11270277Abstract: A computer system and a transaction machine (such as an automated teller machine (ATM)) of the same financial institution, can provide a third party customer the ability to pay bills, issued by the third party, at the ATM. A third party computer system communicates with the financial institution computer system to register the third party customer and obtain a first passcode associated with the third party customer. The financial institution computer system communicates the passcode and an associated bill amount to the ATM. The ATM accepts and verifies a second passcode received from the third party customer. The ATM communicates with the third party computer system to verify the bill amount. Responsive to receiving the verification, the ATM communicates with the third party user to accept a payment. Upon successfully receiving the payment, and verifying the payment amount, the ATM sends a payment notification to the third party computer system.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2019Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.AInventors: Ashish B. Patent number: 11030592Abstract: A robotic device for transporting physical money including a receiving interface, a counter mechanism, a storage vault, and a control circuit. The receiving interface receives physical money. The counter mechanism is connected to the receiving interface and receives and counts the physical money inserted into the receiving interface. The storage vault stores the physical money counted by the counter mechanism and remains closed when the robotic device is at a first location. The control circuit determines an amount of physical money stored in the storage vault based on the counted physical money, controls a drive system of the robotic device to cause the robotic device to travel from the first location to a second location, and opens the storage vault when the robotic device reaches the second location.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: June 8, 2021Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Alicia Y. Patent number: 11010737Abstract: Systems and methods for provisioning a mobile device are described. Provisioning of a mobile device may include binding the device to financial account(s) associated with a financial institution computing system or binding an application installed on the device to the financial account(s). Such systems and methods may use ATMs to facilitate communication with the device and retrieve a unique identifier. The unique identifier, whether received from the ATM or through another communication channel, may be used to further verify the identity of a user of the device as well as verify that the device belongs to or is being used by the same user that has the financial. Once the user is verified and the mobile device is determined to belong to or used by the user, the mobile device can be provisioned by binding either the entire device or an application on the device to the financial account(s).Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2017Date of Patent: May 18, 2021Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Miranda C. Patent number: 10846668Abstract: A method performed by a processor of a financial institution computing system includes allowing an account holder at the financial institution to initiate a transaction with the financial institution remotely (e.g., via smartphone app, online banking portal, etc.), by submitting a request for a branch of the financial institution to provide the specified transaction to the account holder's vehicle upon arrival of the account holder. The pickup and completion of the account holder requested transaction occurs in a designated spot near the financial institution's branch location and from the convenience of the account holder's vehicle. The curbside service alleviates the uncertainty and fluctuating time cost to engage in transactions at a branch of a financial institution by providing an account holder with a user interface to make a transaction request that will be ready to complete when the account holder arrives at the chosen time.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2017Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Miranda C.
