  • Publication number: 20180110046
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for dynamically changing one or more operating parameters of a wireless network. In some aspects, an AP may detect the presence of an overlapping BSS having the same color as its own BSS. Upon detecting a color collision, the AP may temporarily disable color-related features (such as intra-PPDU power save, multi-NAV operation, spatial reuse, and the like) of its associated STAs. If the color collision persists beyond a threshold duration, the AP may dynamically change the color of its own BSS to a different BSS color. In some other aspects, the AP may detect the presence of an overlapping BSS having the same TBTT as its own. Upon detecting a beacon collision, the AP may expedite or delay the timing of its own TBTT so that it does not interfere or overlap with the TBTT of another BSS.

  • Publication number: 20180103487
Abstract: A wireless device (e.g., a station (STA)) may receive a transmission soliciting a control transmission (e.g., a soliciting transmission). The STA may identify a transmission parameter indicator, which may indicate a change in one or more parameters in a control response transmission parameter set (e.g., a set of parameters used for control transmissions in response to the soliciting transmission). The STA may transmit the control transmission in response to the soliciting transmission based on the identified transmission parameter indicator. The control response transmission parameter set may include a frame format, a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) format, a bandwidth, a modulation scheme, an encoding scheme, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), a number of spatial streams (NSS), and/or a PPDU duration. In some cases, the transmission parameter indicator may indicate disabling or resumption of extended range (ER) single user (SU) PPDU format usage.

  • Publication number: 20180085600
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for targeting diseased tissue with a radiation beam. Functional models can be used to accurately obtain a location of specific tissue using sensors at identifiable locations of the patient's body. Using the relative distances between the identifiable sensor locations can allow a patient to be in various positions. The functional models can be prepared using accurate pre-treatment scans, which can be taken at various body positions (e.g., rotations and/or translations). The trajectory of the beam can be measured efficiently and accurately using beam sensors attached to a beam assembly, where a model maps the beam sensor locations to a trajectory of the beam. Further, a motion model can use measurements made during treatment to obtain a time-dependent functions of the movement of the specific tissue, the change of an optimal beam trajectory over time, or the change in input commands to a beam positioner.

  • Publication number: 20180054818
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure allow for one or more network allocation vectors (NAVs) to control whether or not the STA may transmit on the wireless channel depending on whether the NAV was set by a device in the same BSS (“intra-BSS”) or from a different BSS (OBSS or “inter-BSS”). In one aspect, the STA may maintain two NAVs (intra-BSS NAV and inter-BSS NAV). In accordance with one technique, if the inter-BSS NAV was previously set based on an in-deterministic frame (e.g., a frame received by the STA that cannot readily be identified as either intra-BSS frame or an inter-BSS frame), then the STA may respond to a trigger frame from an AP after the inter-BSS NAV has been set as though the inter-BSS NAV is intra-BSS NAV.

  • Publication number: 20180049027
Abstract: A method for wireless communication may include receiving a communication and determining an acknowledgement signature for an acknowledgment in response to the communication. The acknowledgment signature may allow for authentication with the transmitting wireless device. The acknowledgment signature may be based on a key shared with the wireless device. An acknowledgement frame (e.g., acknowledging reception of the communication) may then be sent to the transmitting wireless device. The content of the acknowledgement may be based on the acknowledgement signature. For example, the signature may be included in a frame control, duration, or address field. Determining the acknowledgement signature may include determining a unique signature based on information from the received communication (e.g., a cyclic redundancy check (CRC)), the shared key, and/or a hash function.

  • Publication number: 20180048450
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Wireless devices may use multiple transmission modes to enable association and authentication procedures for wireless devices with different capabilities. For example, a station may receive, in response to a broadcast probe request, a probe response frame formatted according to a first transmission mode. The station may then transmit a second probe request frame formatted according to the first transmission mode. At some later time, the station may identify that the second probe request frame was not received by the wireless device, and may transmit another probe request frame formatted according to an extended range transmission mode. The station may then establish a connection with the wireless device by completing an association and authentication procedure, and proceed to transmit data or control frames formatted according to the extended range transmission mode.

  • Patent number: 9894679
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may win access to an unlicensed frequency channel for a transmission opportunity. For the transmission opportunity, the AP may dynamically schedule a duration of time to be used for uplink transmissions and a duration of time to be used for downlink transmissions. The schedule may be based on a comparison of values for a parameter monitored by the AP. The parameter may be monitored for uplink traffic and for downlink traffic. The parameter may indicate the latency experienced by each direction of traffic, or an intolerance of each direction of traffic to delay. The AP may schedule the uplink and downlink durations to compensate for the discrepancy in latency between the two directions of traffic.

  • Patent number: 9872232
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and devices are described for wireless communications in which neighborhood area network (NaN) information may be requested and provided in a relatively fast and efficient manner between devices of a NaN. A wireless communication device, such as a station in a wireless communications network, may transmit an active probe request to seek information related to a NaN. The active probe request may be a NaN specific probe request, or may be transmitted from a station as part of an active scan for wireless network infrastructure other than NaN devices (e.g., as part of a scan for an AP in a BSS). An AP or master device of the NaN may receive the probe request and generate a NaN discovery response, which may include information that the requesting device may use for connecting to a device in the NaN.
