  • Publication number: 20200382189
Abstract: Multiple mobility sets are maintained for nodes of radio networks. The sets comprise information such as: transmit and receive point identities; cell identities; beam identities; frequency channels; channel bandwidth; and black lists. The sets may be defined at different levels, such as network and physical (PHY) level. A network mobility set, e.g., a new-radio (NR) mobility set may, be determined by the gNB, the cell, the UE, or another device. Multiple radio access network nodes and UEs may exchange mobility set information to achieve a distributed mobility solution. A UE may monitor its orientation relative to a TRP, e.g., via use of an onboard MEMS gyroscope, and alter its beamforming parameters in response to changes in orientation and/or changes in TRP connection strength. Cell selection and reselection for beam based networks may use Single Frequency Network (SFN) broadcast of initial access signals without beam sweeping.

  • Publication number: 20110142107
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a demodulation reference signal for use by user equipment configured with multiple antennas based on a rank of an antenna or an antenna port are disclosed. A rank for a user equipment device is determined indicating the number of spatial layers or antenna ports in use, and the value of the rank is used to generate a cyclic shift offset and a cyclic shift, that can then be used to generate a demodulation reference signal to be used in timeslots within each spatial layer of an uplink transmission. Orthogonal cover codes may be used in conjunction with a determined cyclic shift to generate a demodulation reference signal.

  • Publication number: 20080084849
Abstract: A method and apparatus for uplink synchronization during handover are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) measures a downlink receipt timing difference between a source Node-B and a target Node-B. The WTRU calculates a target Node-B timing advance value based on the downlink receipt timing difference, a source Node-B timing advance value, and a relative downlink transmit timing difference between the target Node-B and the source Node-B. The WTRU then applies the target Node-B timing advance value in transmission to the target Node-B. The source Node-B may calculate the relative downlink transmit timing difference between the target Node-B and the source Node-B, and send it to the WTRU. The source Node-B may provide the source Node-B timing advance value more frequently during handover. The WTRU may measure the downlink receipt timing difference by averaging multiple first significant paths (FSPs) over a certain time window.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for synchronization in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system including at least one base station and a plurality of wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs). A secondary synchronization channel (S-SCH) symbol is generated to include cell-specific information. The S-SCH symbol is mapped to the center of the available bandwidth of the system. In one embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on different subcarriers at different sectors in the system. In another embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on the same subcarriers at different sectors in the system.

  • Publication number: 20070297386
Abstract: A method and system for scheduling uplink transmissions in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A Node-B receives a scheduling request from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a certain bandwidth for the WTRU based on quality of service (QoS) requirement of the WTRU. If the QoS requirement is high, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a large bandwidth and if the QoS requirement is low, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a small bandwidth. The Node-B then schedules uplink transmissions in a time domain and/or a frequency domain based on a predetermined factor. The Node-B may perform frequency and/or time hopping in scheduling the uplink transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20070291696
Abstract: A method and apparatus for random access in an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system are disclosed. For code division multiplexing (CDM), a basic preamble is generated using a constant amplitude zero auto-correlation (CAZAC) sequence. The basic preamble is repeated for M time for generating a random access channel (RACH) preamble. For time division multiplexing/frequency division multiplexing (TDM/FDM), an extended CAZAC sequence is used to generate the basic preamble. Alternatively, a hybrid RACH access period including at least one CDM random access slot and at least one TDM/FDM random access slot may be provided.

  • Patent number: 6592219
Abstract: A clamping tool includes a clamping member with a tubular body and resilient clamping jaws extending integrally from the tubular body and cooperatively defining a clamping hole. The clamping jaws have inclined outer surfaces which incline radially and outwardly in a direction away from the tubular body. An adjustment sleeve is sleeved on the tubular body, and has a depressing section disposed proximate to the clamping jaws, and a threaded section that is formed with an internal screw thread which engages an external screw thread on an outer surface of the tubular body. Due to the engagement between the internal screw thread and the external screw thread, the depressing section is moved along the inclined outer surfaces of the clamping jaws, and depresses the clamping jaws to permit adjustment of size of the clamping hole when the adjustment sleeve is rotated about the clamping member.
