Patent number: 11923939Abstract: Multiple mobility sets are maintained for nodes of radio networks. The sets comprise information such as: transmit and receive point identities; cell identities; beam identities; frequency channels; channel bandwidth; and black lists. The sets may be defined at different levels, such as network and physical (PHY) level. A network mobility set, e.g., a new-radio (NR) mobility set may, be determined by the gNB, the cell, the UE, or another device. Multiple radio access network nodes and UEs may exchange mobility set information to achieve a distributed mobility solution. A UE may monitor its orientation relative to a TRP, e.g., via use of an onboard MEMS gyroscope, and alter its beamforming parameters in response to changes in orientation and/or changes in TRP connection strength. Cell selection and reselection for beam based networks may use Single Frequency Network (SFN) broadcast of initial access signals without beam sweeping.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: IPLA HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Wei Chen, Pascal M. Patent number: 11888775Abstract: In NR, a slot structure of a UE may be dynamic due the number of symbols of PDCCH and whether the slot has UL data, among other considerations. Additionally, to support multi-TRP/multi-panel/multi-BWP operation, a UE may be configured with multiple TRSs, and when a UE needs to receive multiple TRSs in the same slot, efficient signaling of the TRSs is important because of the high overhead involved. During a transmission, a UE may need to do beam switching when there is a beam failure, but existing systems do not have mechanisms for the UE to synchronize time and frequency with a new beam. Further, when a UE switches to a new beam, the effect on scheduled TRS transmission for old beams is unclear. Fine frequency and time tracking may also be required during an initial access procedure. Existing NR systems do not address how a UE may perform time and frequency tracking during an initial access procedure. Additionally, URLLC data may need to be transmitted to a UE immediately in an NR system.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2022Date of Patent: January 30, 2024Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Yifan Li, Lakshmi R. Patent number: 11889514Abstract: Sidelink communication operations may be enhanced through the use of communications requirement signaling, which may include, for example, indications of the type, size, quality of service requirements, pending buffer sizes, and the like, and through the evaluation of such signaled information to determine whether existing grants and logical channels may suffice for new sidelink traffic. Grants may be requested via sidelink scheduling requests and sidelink buffer status reporting, for example, which allow scheduling devices, such as base stations and scheduling user equipment apparatuses, early insight into needs of sidelink traffic for application with divergent QoS requirements.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: January 30, 2024Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Pascal M.
