  • Publication number: 20160207694
Abstract: Packages and methods of packaging a plurality of glass sheets provide a stack of glass sheets with an interleaf protective sheet positioned between each adjacent pair of glass sheets. An outer portion of each interleaf protective sheet is bent over a portion of the peripheral edge of one of a corresponding adjacent pair of glass sheets to discourage relative shifting of the glass sheets with respect to one another. The stack of glass sheets are sandwiched between pressure members of an outer housing such that the pressure members each apply a support pressure that is distributed over an outer surface of a corresponding one of the pair of outermost glass sheets of the stack of glass sheets.

  • Publication number: 20160184175
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide skin stimulating devices and methods that address the aging effects of skin at a protein level. Particularly, cyclical mechanical strain is used to regulate specific proteins within the skin, so as to produce specific effects. As a non-limiting example, the disclosed embodiments can be used to increase the production of certain proteins (e.g., hyaluronan synthase 3 (HAS3); fibronectin; tropoelastin; procoll1; integrin, etc.) in the skin, which results in anti-aging effects by increasing epidermal cohesion.

  • Publication number: 20160184171
Abstract: An end effector is capable of being used to stimulate a portion of skin at a stimulation frequency. The end effector includes a base portion that is couplable to a motor and an end portion having a plurality of contact points at which the end effector is configured to contact the portion of skin. The plurality of contact points are located at a target distance from each other that is based on an inverse of the stimulation frequency. The end effector is configured such that, when the base portion is coupled to the motor and the motor is operating, the end effector has a resonant frequency based on the stimulation frequency. When the motor is operating and a force is applied to bias the end effector toward the portion of skin, a cyclical stimulus is produced within the portion of skin at about the stimulation frequency.

  • Publication number: 20160121353
Abstract: The present disclosure relates, in various embodiments, to methods and systems for masking and de-masking a portion of an interior surface of a structure, such as may be useful in the selective coating of an interior surface of a structure. The method comprises providing a masking device comprising a magnetically active material and a seal-forming material and inserting the masking device into an interior of the structure. A magnetic force is activated in order to bring the masking device into sealable contact with a portion of an interior surface of the structure, thereby producing a masked portion of the interior surface. While maintaining the sealable contact, the unmasked portion of the interior surface of the structure is coated with a coating material. After the coating, the magnetic force is deactivated in order to bring the masking device out of sealable contact with the interior surface of the structure.
