Patent number: 7152310Abstract: A crimping installation with first and second crimping stations includes at each station a device platform with device stations and a crimp press. A cable is advanced by a tape drive whereby the leading cable end is taken over by a first grip arm arranged on a first swivel arm, which supplies the stripped cable end to the first crimping station. After the leading cable end is provided with a crimping contact, a first swivel arm moves backwards into an axis of the tape drive. Then the tape drive continues to advance the cable until the desired length of a cable section is reached. A separation and a stripping station separates the cable section from the cable and removes the insulation at the cable ends. The lagging cable end of the cable section is taken over by a second grip arm arranged on a second swivel arm which supplies the lagging cable end to the second crimping station for assembly with a crimping contact.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2005Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Komax Holding AGInventor: Alois Conte

Patent number: 7043825Abstract: A cable-processing device includes a first drive for swiveling movement and a second drive for linear movement of a swivel-arm. The swivel-arm is held on a bracket for rotation about an axle with a spring force acting counterclockwise on the swivel-arm. A gripper on the end of the swivel-arm holds a cable-end between first and second gripper-jaws. The jaws are arranged rotatably on an axle and are opened and closed by means of gears. To reduce the swivel-arm mass to be moved, the actuator for the gears is arranged on the swivel-arm.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2004Date of Patent: May 16, 2006Assignee: Komax Holding AGInventor: Alois Conte

Patent number: 6658726Abstract: A swing-down separating means (24) connected to the pivot arm (21) is provided for the initial separation of the two cables (3,4) of a double crimped cable (25). This separating means may be moved such that it is in detachable engagement with a guide and separating part (28) arranged in a first cable deposit trough (26) which may be emptied as a result of a lateral pivotal movement. To transfer the double crimped cables (25) in the separated condition in the emptying position of the first cable deposit trough (26), this first cable guide and separating part (28) may in turn be moved such that it is in detachable engagement with a second cable guide and separating part (29) arranged in a second cable deposit trough (27), which is located below the first cable deposit trough (26) and may be moved laterally in the longitudinal direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2000Date of Patent: December 9, 2003Assignee: Komax Holding AGInventor: Alois Conte

Publication number: 20030172529Abstract: A crimp press has a positioning unit for lowering a grip arm supplying a cable end to a crimp device. The positioning unit is arranged on a handle firmly connected with a tool holder. Vertical movement of the handle with the positioning unit corresponds to the vertical movement of the tool holder during the crimping operation. Adjustment to different crimp devices and/or different crimping contact types is provided by a bar of the positioning unit being adjustable in vertical direction and automatically lockable and releasable.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2003Publication date: September 18, 2003Inventor: Alois Conte

Publication number: 20020178580Abstract: A gripper unit including a mounting bracket, a housing with a rotatable carrier and a height adjuster having a cylinder unit and guides, which are connected at the other end with the housing. The carrier is rotatable about a first axis by a first drive. Arranged at the carrier are a first gripper module with a first gripper and a second gripper module with a second gripper. The grippers can be spread apart or spread out by gripper drives. The second gripper module is rotatable about a second axis by a second drive. By this gripper unit, leads are brought together by rotary movements in order to be subsequently connected together in common with a contact by crimping technique.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2002Publication date: December 5, 2002Applicant: Komax Holding AGInventor: Alois Conte

Patent number: 6357575Abstract: A cable feeder having a first drive unit, a second drive unit, a third drive unit and grippers. The first drive unit has a platform, which is rotatable about a third point of rotational and driven by a motor via a belt. The second drive unit is carried by the platform and arranged to be displaceable on the platform in the direction of an axis by the third drive unit. The grippers with the cable ends when in the operating region of an automatic insulation-stripping device are controlled by the second drive unit so that both cable axes extend parallelly and the cable ends are stripped of insulation at the same time. Thereafter, the second drive unit with the grippers is displaced rearwardly in the direction of the axis by the third drive unit and pivoted into the operating range of the following automatic device for the equipping of sealing sleeves. After this operation, the cable ends are brought into the operating region of an automatic crimping device.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: Komax Holding AGInventor: Alois Conte
