  • Publication number: 20140263191
Abstract: A system and method of welding stainless steel to copper is provided. The method includes providing a first workpiece composed of stainless steel and providing a second workpiece composed of copper. The method also includes heating by using a laser a root area of a joint created by the workpieces. The heating by the laser creates a keyhole in at least one of the first workpiece and the second workpiece. The method also includes providing a consumable electrode that is composed of nickel to the joint and creating an arc between the consumable electrode and the joint using a welding current. The preheating of the arc using the keyhole eliminates the need to preheat the second workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20060248843
Abstract: A series of rebar hangers for use at both a secondary primary level and a secondary level, vertically speaking for the suspension of rebar rods in footing formation. These components employ a rest head connected to a shaft, connected to a base, which base if the device is of a primary level nature has a spacer disposed on the rear side thereof. Each of the heads is conceptually interchangeable as is each of the bases interchangeable to create a fixed configuration unit for a specific mount and retention. The device's rest head is attached to or overlays a footing former, if primary; or attaches to a primary device if secondary. The base extending from the shaft is adapted to retain one or two rebar rods depending on the base's configuration.

  • Patent number: 4876797
Abstract: A portable self-contained gas operated hand saw is provided having a housing with a carburetor an engine therein, a handle having a trigger coupled to the carburetor mounted at one end of the housing and a saw blade mounted at the other end of the housing. The saw blade housing has a worm gear driven rotatable shaft to which a saw blade may be keyed for rotation. The worm gear is driven by a centrifugal clutch driven by the engine. Fans are provided for rotation with the clutch and saw blade for cooling the saw in addition to the normal cooling of the engine. Anti-vibration means are provided to isolate the handle and trigger from the engine. The engine is suspended from a rubber mount allowing it to vibrate freely, thereby isolating vibration from the saw blade housing, saw plate, and handle and trigger.
