  • Publication number: 20220106697
Abstract: Embodiments of nanostructures comprising metal oxide and methods for forming the nanostructure on surfaces are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the nanostructures can be formed on a substrate made of a nickel titanium alloy, resulting in a nanostructure containing both titanium oxide and nickel oxide. The nanostructure can include a lattice layer disposed on top of a nanotube layer. The distal surface of the lattice layer can have a titanium oxide to nickel oxide ratio of greater than 10:1, or about 17:1, resulting in a nanostructure that promotes human endothelial cell migration and proliferation at the interface between the lattice layer and human cells or tissue. The nanostructure may be formed on the outer surface of an implantable medical device, such a stent or an orthopedic implant (e.g. knee implant, bone screw, or bone staple).

  • Patent number: 11296478
Abstract: Techniques are provided for scaling the average power of high-energy solid-state lasers to high values of average output power while maintaining high efficiency. An exemplary technique combines a gas-cooled-slab amplifier architecture with a pattern of amplifier pumping and extraction in which pumping is continuous and in which only a small fraction of the energy stored in the amplifier is extracted on any one pulse. Efficient operation is achieved by propagating many pulses through the amplifier during each period equal to the fluorescence decay time of the gain medium, so that the preponderance of the energy cycled through the upper laser level decays through extraction by the amplified pulses rather than through fluorescence decay.

  • Patent number: 11297332
Abstract: In some embodiments, gaze-tracking-based image downscaling for multi-party video communication may be provided. In some embodiments, a set of gaze locations may be received from a set of receiving devices during concurrent video communication sessions between the receiving devices and a sending device. Different collections of positions may be determined based on the gaze locations, and, for each such collection, a spatial indicator (e.g., a bounded region) may be determined. A first downscaled encoding of the source image (from the sending device) may be generated based on the first spatial indicator, and a second downscaled encoding of the source image may be generated based on the second spatial indicator, etc. The downscaled encodings may then be sent to the respective receiving devices during the concurrent video communication sessions.

  • Publication number: 20220103296
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to improving the reliable of a computing network. A first computing device receives changing states of a data object to send to a second computing device via a network interface. The first computing device sends, to the second computing device, a baseline packet having a complete one of the states of the data object. The first computing device sends, to the second computing device, a sequence of update packets corresponding to the changing states of the data object. An update packet in the sequence includes sufficient information to update a stored state of the data object at the second computing device to a current state of the data object responsive to the stored state being one of two or more previous ones of the states.

  • Publication number: 20220101248
Abstract: Identifying and reducing package delivery risks can include receiving, at a computer, package delivery data for a package to be delivered. Package delivery factors can be determined which include package fragility. Product information and product reviews can be analyzed based on the factors, and the analyzing can include using natural language processing to evaluate the product information and product reviews to identify language related to the factors. The factors can be weighted based on the analysis of the product information and the product reviews based on a probability of risk of damage to the package. A package risk score is calculated based on the analysis and the weighting. A best delivery practice for the package is generated based on the package risk score, and the package risk score and best delivery practice is communicated to a device of a delivery person.

  • Patent number: 11287083
Abstract: An information handling system display swivel arm rotates about two axes with selectable amounts of rotation. The swivel arm couples to an anchor and a display support with a tool-less swivel coupling device having a member inserted into a housing and rotationally coupled in place by first and second pins that engage first and second slots of the member. The first slot is disposed around the circumference of the member to support substantially 360 degrees of rotation of the member in the housing. The second slot is disposed only part of the way around the circumference of the member to support partial rotation, such as 180 degrees. Removal of both pins from the member allows withdrawal of the member from the housing to disassemble the swivel arm.

  • Publication number: 20220092236
Abstract: A system, method and product for an interest-based distributed simulation system. A system comprising: multiple servers, wherein a component-server deployment defines which server is tasked with processing each component of a simulation; a database for storing values of components and delivering the values or portion thereof to servers based on interest definitions. A server of the multiple servers is authoritative over a target component of the plurality of components of the simulation. The server is configured to determine an inverse interest list for the target component, wherein the inverse interest list identifies all components interested in the target component according to the interest definitions. The server selectively transmits updates of the target component to the database based on the inverse interest list and based on the component-server deployment.

  • Publication number: 20220094694
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating a network communication pathway between devices based on type of communication request are disclosed. The system obtains a communication object from a first device to enable communication with a second device. The first device may be a device within an affinity group of the second device, such that the system identifies historic data relating to the affinity group and/or relating to communication attempts from non-subscriber devices found in one or more affinity groups stored within the system. Based on the communication object type, the system identifies whether communication object relates to a question object previously received from the second device and calculates an Expert Attribute Score (EAS) for the first device. The system may evaluate the EAS against a predetermined threshold and transmit the communication object to the second device, if the EAS is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold.
