  • Publication number: 20150100931
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to techniques for adaptive clock management in emulation. A clock suspension request signal, indicating when a suspension of design clock signals in an emulator is needed, is generated based on activity status information of the emulator with one or more emulator resources such as software environment. A clock suspension allowance signal, indicating whether a suspension of design clock signals is permitted considering dynamic targets in the emulator, is generated based on slack information related to one or more clock signals associated with one or more dynamic targets of the emulator. Based on the clock suspension request signal and the clock suspension allowance signal, a clock suspension signal is generated for enabling temporary design clock suspensions.

  • Patent number: 8986492
Abstract: A method for forming an array area with a surrounding periphery area, wherein a substrate is disposed under an etch layer, which is disposed under a patterned organic mask defining the array area and covers the entire periphery area is provided. The patterned organic mask is trimmed. An inorganic layer is deposited over the patterned organic mask where a thickness of the inorganic layer over the covered periphery area of the organic mask is greater than a thickness of the inorganic layer over the array area of the organic mask. The inorganic layer is etched back to expose the organic mask and form inorganic spacers in the array area, while leaving the organic mask in the periphery area unexposed. The organic mask exposed in the array area is stripped, while leaving the inorganic spacers in place and protecting the organic mask in the periphery area.

  • Publication number: 20150080047
Abstract: The present disclosure sets forth a method for tracking path loss in which a monitoring device issues a series of power step commands and transmit power requests to a reporting device, receives transmit power data in response to the transmit power requests, and creates a data structure (e.g., a table) that maps the number of steps (e.g., number of steps increased or decreased) of the power step commands with the reported transmit powers. This process is performed during the initial connection between the monitoring device and the reporting device.

  • Publication number: 20150046144
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to techniques for dynamic control of design clock generation in emulation. A circuit design for verification is analyzed to determine one or more clock-enabling functions for a specific clock signal. Logic for generating a clock status signal based on the one or more clock-enabling signals is then determined. The clock status signal is employed to control clock generation in an emulation system for emulating the circuit design.

  • Patent number: 8943490
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for performing a controlled non-stop software upgrade (NSSU) of a network device. In some examples, a method includes receiving, by a first network device included in a virtual network device, a non-stop software upgrade (NSSU) request. The first network device is communicatively coupled to each of a computing device and a second network device. The method includes, in response to receiving the NSSU request, forwarding to the second network device, network packets that are received at the first network device and destined to the computing device. The method also includes sending a message to the computing device that instructs the computing device to stop sending network packets to the first network device. The method includes updating one or more software components within the first network device, after sending the message to the computing device and based at least in part on the NSSU request.

  • Patent number: 8572760
Abstract: Semantic information may be secured by an agent using one or more semantic security labels (e.g., security predicates). The agent may be configured to allow other agents to access the semantic information according to a set of semantically expressed policies, strategies, and/or rules. A request to receive information may be mapped to a negotiation policy of the agent. The agent may evaluate the request against a semantic information sharing policy. If the information is accessible under the information sharing policy, the information may be provided. If not, the agent may negotiate information sharing terms using the negotiation ontology, strategy, and rules. Similarly, the agent may request information from other entities. Terms of the information requests may be negotiated using the negotiation ontology, strategy, and rules.
