  • Publication number: 20220045896
Abstract: A network device intercepts, from an application associated with a user space, a request message associated with obtaining information regarding a network state from a kernel. The network device directs the request message to a service daemon of the user space based on intercepting the request message, and determines, using the service daemon, network state information regarding the network state. The network device intercepts, from the service daemon, a response message associated with providing the network state information to the application, and directs an altered response message to the application based on intercepting the response message such that the altered response message identifies the kernel as a source of the response message and not the service daemon as the source of the response message.

  • Publication number: 20220043673
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for FPGA accelerated serverless computing comprises receiving, from a user, a definition of a serverless computing task comprising one or more functions to be executed. A task scheduler performs an initial placement of the serverless computing task to a first host determined to be a first optimal host for executing the serverless computing task. The task scheduler determines a supplemental placement of a first function to a second host determined to be a second optimal host for accelerating execution of the first function, wherein the first function is not able to accelerated by one or more FPGAs in the first host. The serverless computing task is executed on the first host and the second host according to the initial placement and the supplemental placement.

  • Patent number: 11244673
Abstract: Streaming machine learning unidirectional models is facilitated by the use of embedding vectors. Processing blocks in the models apply embedding vectors as input. The embedding vectors utilize context of future data (e.g., data that is temporally offset into the future within a data stream) to improve the accuracy of the outputs generated by the processing blocks. The embedding vectors cause a temporal shift between the outputs of the processing blocks and the inputs to which the outputs correspond. This temporal shift enables the processing blocks to apply the embedding vector inputs from processing blocks that are associated with future data.

  • Patent number: 11243585
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to methods, systems and apparatus for dynamic temperature aware functional safety. The disclosed embodiments provide adaptive techniques to track extended dynamic temperature range of a System-on-Chip (SOC) and automatically tune critical IP components of the SOC so that system can operate reliably even at high temperatures. The disclosed embodiments relax the overdesign of the SOC components by reusing existing components such as a ring oscillator to determine temperature at different regions of the SOC. In one embodiment, the disclosed principles use a Calibrated Ring Oscillator (CRO) temperature sensors. The CRO-based temperature sensors provide fast temperature measurement suitable for detecting dynamic temperature ranges and temperature rate of change. The CROs are existing on the SOC and do not require addition of additional sensors.

  • Publication number: 20220035897
Abstract: A device includes two cameras, a front facing camera and a back facing camera. In response to a request to use one camera (e.g., the back facing camera) with particular functionality of an application, the application queries a system to verify whether the user is authenticated and authorized to use the camera with the particular functionality of the application. This authentication and authorization is performed based on an image of the user captured using another camera of the device (e.g., the front facing camera). Depending on whether the user is authenticated and authorized to use the camera with the particular functionality of the application, the particular functionality is performed using the camera, secondary (e.g., lesser) functionality is performed using the camera, or no functionality is performed using the camera.

  • Publication number: 20220035412
Abstract: In aspects of adaptive grip suppression, a wireless device has a display screen with curved display edges to display a selectable element in a region of a curved display edge. The wireless device implements an adaptive control module to adaptively tune grip suppression in the curved display edges of the display screen, which limits a device application action from being initiated based on inadvertent touch inputs on the selectable element. The adaptive control module can adaptively tune the grip suppression by decreasing the grip suppression in the region of the curved display edge proximate the selectable element responsive to false rejects indicating that the device application action is not initiating responsive to intended touch inputs, or by increasing the grip suppression in the region of the curved display edge proximate the selectable element responsive to false accepts indicating that the device application action is initiating responsive to inadvertent touch inputs.

  • Publication number: 20220038572
Abstract: In aspects of adaptive grip suppression, a wireless device has a display screen with curved display edges to display a user interface associated with a device application, the user interface including a selectable element to initiate a device application action. The wireless device implements an adaptive control module to adaptively manage grip suppression in the curved display edges of the display screen, which limits the device application action from being initiated based on inadvertent touch inputs on the selectable element. The adaptive control module can determine that the selectable element of the user interface is displayed within a region of a curved display edge of the display screen, and decrease the grip suppression in the region of the curved display edge proximate the selectable element of the user interface.
