  • Patent number: 10082561
Abstract: A symbiotic radar and communication system is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of base stations in communication with a wider communication network, each base station being configured to transmit and receive communication signals to and from a plurality of user terminals. The system performs communication data processing and radar data processing on received signals so that target object reflections contained therein can be resolved. Preferably, initial radar data processing is performed at each base station which embeds time and position information into the data and communicates it to a central radar server, the central server combining the received data from several of the base stations into a single range resolution profile.

  • Patent number: 10082418
Abstract: A weight management mat for passively and automatically monitoring weight for one or more individuals in a household. The weight management mat generally includes a housing having an upper mat and a lower mat between which is sealed a pair of perpendicular sensor arrays. Each sensor array includes fiber optic cables laid out in a grid pattern. One or more microbend inducers act to induce detectable microbends in the fiber optic cables when an individual steps on the upper mat. The change in light intensity caused by these microbends is recorded by photodetectors and processed by a microcontroller. The present invention may be utilized to identify each unique individual stepping on the present invention by the pressure map of their feet. Thus, recorded weight measurements may be tracked to aid in weight management.

  • Patent number: 10085221
Abstract: Incorporation of a mesh base station in a wireless network is presented herein. The mesh base station can utilize common wireless resource allocations as a corresponding wireless base station while transmitting to wireless subscriber stations during the same time period. The mesh base station obtains a data packet from the wireless base station over a backhaul link during a scheduled time period and transmits the data packet to the designated wireless subscriber station during another scheduled time period. The wireless base station and the mesh base station can also receive data packets from wireless subscriber stations during a same time period. A wireless network can be configured with two mesh base stations at an approximate boundary of two adjacent sector coverage areas, where a coverage area is supported by a wireless base station and each mesh base station supports wireless subscriber stations within a coverage radius.

  • Publication number: 20180270226
Abstract: Some embodiments provide secure transfer of user information between devices. To facilitate an online transaction, a first computing device queries a second computing device for user information. Responsive to receiving the query, the second computing device prompts a user for credentials to validate access to user information stored on a local database. Upon receiving credentials, the second computing device displays a user interface that allow access to the user information. Responsive to selection of a particular set of user information, some embodiments transmit the particular set of user information to the first computing device. In turn, the first computing device auto-populates a user interface with the user information to unburden the user of manually entering the particular set of user information into the user interface, and enable completion of the online transaction.

  • Publication number: 20180268402
Abstract: Various embodiments dynamically transfer authentication information between devices. A first computing device establishes a first communication link with a second computing device, and a second communication link with a remote computing device. Upon accessing the remote computing device over the second communication link, the first computing device receives a request for authentication information from the remote computing device. In turn, the first computing device queries the second computing device for the authentication information over the first communication link. Before sending the authentication information, the second computing device prompts a user for credentials to validate the request for authentication information. Responsive to receiving the credentials, the second computing device dynamically transfers the authentication information to the first computing device over the first communication link.

  • Publication number: 20180270564
Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processor for headphone off-ear detection. The signal processor includes an audio output to transmit an audio signal toward a headphone speaker in a headphone cup. The signal processor also includes a feedback (FB) microphone input to receive a FB signal from a FB microphone in the headphone cup. The signal processor also includes an off-ear detection (OED) signal processor to determine an audio frequency response of the FB signal over an OED frame as a received frequency response. The OED processor also determines an audio frequency response of the audio signal times an off-ear transfer function between the headphone speaker and the FB microphone as an ideal off-ear response. A difference metric si generated comparing the received frequency response to the ideal off-ear frequency response. The difference metric is employed to detect when the headphone cup is disengaged from an ear.

  • Publication number: 20180268200
Abstract: A video conference invite is accessed and names and/or account addresses in the invite are used to obtain information of people listed on the invite from a database. The information can include template photographs of the people and locations of the people. During a video conference that is subject of the invite, when it is determined that a video feed of the video conference indicates that plural participants are together in a single room, images of faces in the video feed are efficiently matched against only template photographs of people in the database indicated by the database as being associated with the room.

  • Patent number: 10074453
Abstract: Polypyrrole/carbon (PPy/C) composite doped with organic anion p-toluenesulfonate (pTS) is utilized as an electrode in supercapacitor for energy storage application. The surface initiated in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization yields a composite material PPy/C in the presence of varying concentrations of pTS. The novelty of the present invention lies in the doping of PPy/C composite with organic anion pTS and consequent enhancement of its electrochemical activity and stability. The conjugation length and electrical conductivity of pTS doped PPy/C composites increase with the increase in dopant concentration. The pTS doped PPy/C composite synthesized using equimolar concentration (0.1 M) of pTS to pyrrole shows the maximum specific capacitance of ˜395 F/g in 0.5 M Na2SO4 aqueous solution with significant stability ˜95% capacitance retention after ˜500 cycles.
