  • Publication number: 20150302150
Abstract: Streamlined and integrated patient care and health information management systems and methods for reducing the need for costly, near constant patient monitoring by providing system components that allow healthcare professionals to view the most important data for a number of patients in varying physical locations in a seamless manner are disclosed. Various components of the system can be used to monitor patients; measure, record, and track vital signs; and coordinate patient care in an automated fashion. Patients that have a achieved a relatively stable condition during a recovery process, but who still require or would benefit from near constant, or frequent vital sign monitoring can be provided with one or more body worn vital sign sensors. These patient worn sensors can track vital sign and other information about patients, including patient movement, activity, and sleep patterns.

  • Publication number: 20150235015
Abstract: An optimized server for streamed applications provides a streamed application server optimized to provide efficient delivery of streamed applications to client systems across a computer network such as the Internet. The server persistently stores streamed application program sets that contain streamed application file pages. Client systems request streamed application file pages from the server using a unique set of numbers common among all servers that store the particular streamed application file pages. A license server offloads the streamed application server by performing client access privilege validations. Commonly accessed streamed application file pages are stored in a cache on the streamed application server which attempts to retrieve requested streamed application file pages from the cache before retrieving them from persistent storage. Requested streamed application file pages are compressed before being sent to a client as well as those stored in the cache.

  • Patent number: 8719079
Abstract: Documents or document sets may be scored to reflect a value of an action, such as a selection for example, when an ad is served with the document (or a document belonging to a document set). A cost associated with the action with respect to an ad that was served with a document may then be adjusted using the score. For example, ad scores may be accepted or determined, and a document may be scored using the ad scores when served with the document and ad scores across a collection of documents to generate a document score. Each of the ad scores may indicate a value of an action with respect to an ad, such as a conversion rate, or a return on investment for an ad selection for example. Document scores used in this way may help advertisers get a more consistent cost per conversion, or return on investment, without requiring them to enter and manage various offers for various documents and/or various ad serving systems having various conversion rates or returns on investment.

  • Patent number: 8660858
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating an automated configuration of a component of a practice management system for use by a healthcare provider associated with a medical practice. An initial configuration of the component is generated based, at least in part, on global content stored by the practice management system. A self-service implementation tool provided by the practice management system enables a user at the medical practice to refine the initial configuration via a user interface that presents the user with a plurality of tasks to perform. By allowing providers to actively participate in the configuration process by completing assigned tasks via the user interface, the process of configuring a component of the practice management system is simplified compared to conventional practice management systems, which often require an administrator of the practice management system to create a customized solution for each provider or medical practice from scratch.

  • Publication number: 20140010234
Abstract: Techniques are presented to summarize the Media Access Control (MAC) addresses behind a single edge port so that the Datacenter Ethernet edge devices do not learn the MAC addresses of individual end hosts connected to the Datacenter Ethernet network. At a line card of an Ethernet networking device connected to a DCE network, information is generated that summarizes Media Access Control (MAC) addresses of remote hosts reachable through a Datacenter Ethernet networking device of the Datacenter Ethernet network. A packet is received at the Ethernet networking device, wherein the packet is directed to one of the remote hosts. The packet is forwarded to one of the remote hosts using the information summarizing the MAC addresses of the remote hosts.
