Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with artifact type neutral change management are described. One example method includes maintaining an access table for each artifact in a collaborative software environment that records a most recent access of an artifact on a per user basis. An artifact type registration table is also maintained that maps each artifact type to the access table that records access information for artifacts of the given type and to a data store that stores artifacts of that type. For a given user, artifact pair, queries on the type registration table, access table, and data store are generated to return the last modification time for the artifact and the user's last access time for the artifact. This information is used to determine a change status of the artifact for the given user. This common framework can be used for artifacts of any type that are registered in the type registration table.

Abstract: A file server architecture decouples logical storage from physical storage and provides proactive detection and containment of faults, errors, and corruptions in a file system, in order to enable in place (online) and non-intrusive recovery. The file system is built upon a thinly provisioned logical volume, and there are stored three copies of the metadata defining the logical volume in order to provide quick, deterministic, and reliable recovery from a faulted system. A first copy of the metadata is distributed among all of the slices of physical storage allocated to the logical volume. A second copy of the metadata is stored in a root slice of the logical volume. A third copy of the metadata is stored separate from the slices of physical storage allocated to the logical volume.

Abstract: Some embodiments are implemented in a communication system that includes a first wireless communication system that includes a Femtocell access point (FAP) and a network controller that can communicatively couple the FAP to a second wireless communication system. In some embodiments, the network controller can communicatively couple to the second wireless communication system through a UTRAN Iu interface. In some embodiments, the FAP can communicatively couple to a user equipment using a short-range licensed wireless frequency. Some embodiments provide method that determines whether a user equipment (UE) has roved-out of the first wireless communication system. The method receives a periodic message at the FAP from the UE. When the FAP fails to receive a pre-determined number of the periodic messages, the method sends a deregister message to the network controller over a unique connection dedicated to the UE and releases the dedicated connection.

Abstract: Techniques are described to allow a query to be registered as a persistent stored entity within the database, and to generate notifications as and when the query result changes continuously as long as the query continues to be registered with the database. According to one aspect, for a table referenced in a query, a filter condition is generated based, at least in part, on a predicate of the query. Then, the database server determines whether the filter condition is satisfied by either a before image of a row, or an after image of the row, that was modified by a transaction. If the filter condition is satisfied by either the before image or the after image, then the query is added to a first set of queries whose result sets may have been affected by the transaction. From among the first set of queries, a second set of queries that have result sets that were actually affected by the transaction is determined. Notifications are then sent based on the second set of queries.

Abstract: An autonomous, self-powered device includes a radioisotope-powered current impulse generator including a spring assembly comprising a cantilever, and a piezoelectric-surface acoustic wave (P-SAW) structure connected in parallel to the current impulse generator. Positive charges are accumulated on an electrically isolated 63Ni thin film due to the continuous emission of ?-particles (electrons), which are collected on the cantilever. The accumulated charge eventually pulls the cantilever into the radioisotope thin-film until electrical discharge occurs. The electrical discharge generates a transient magnetic and electrical field that can excite the RF modes of a cavity in which the electrical discharge occurs. A piezoelectric-SAW resonator is connected to the discharge assembly to control the RF frequency output.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system, method, and article of manufacture for augmented-reality marketing with a virtual coupon. A virtual representation of an object is provided. A real representation of the object is provided. An association of the virtual representation and the real representation is rendered with a user interface. A virtual coupon is made available to a user when the virtual representation and the real representation are rendered. A graphical metaphor may be integrated into the virtual representation according to an environmental characteristic of the object. The environmental characteristic may include a physical environmental characteristic, a data environmental characteristic, a computer environmental characteristic or a user environmental characteristic.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method for depositing tungsten-containing materials. In one embodiment, a method includes forming a tungsten nucleation layer over an underlayer disposed on the substrate while sequentially providing a tungsten precursor and a reducing gas into a process chamber during an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process and depositing a tungsten bulk layer over the tungsten nucleation layer, wherein the reducing gas contains hydrogen gas and a hydride compound (e.g., diborane) and has a hydrogen/hydride flow rate ratio of about 500:1 or greater. In some examples, the method includes flowing the hydrogen gas into the process chamber at a flow rate within a range from about 1 slm to about 20 slm and flowing a mixture of the hydride compound and a carrier gas into the process chamber at a flow rate within a range from about 50 sccm to about 500 sccm.

Abstract: A user interface may be selected for a system with hierarchical data types by traversing an inheritance tree to find a pre-defined user interface, or by automatically generating a user interface based on the type definition. The automatically generated user interface may include tabs or groupings for components of the data type that may be inherited from other data types. In some embodiments, portions of the automatically generated user interface may be obtained from other data types.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention disclose a system and a method for generating an output video having a first temporal resolution from input videos acquired synchronously of a scene by at least three cameras, wherein each input video has a second temporal resolution, wherein the second temporal resolution is less than the first temporal resolution. The method obtains frames of each input video, wherein the frames are sampled according to a code selected such that an integration time of the corresponding camera is greater than a frame time of the output video. Next, the method combines intensities of pixels of corresponding frames in a linear system; and solves the linear system independently for each corresponding frame to generate the output video.

Abstract: A sequence of images of a scene having varying spatio-temporal resolutions is acquired by a sensor of a camera. Adjacent pixels of the sensor are partitioned into a multiple sets of the pixels. An integration time for acquiring each set of pixels is partitioned into multiple time intervals. The images are acquired while some of the pixels in each set are ON for some of the intervals, while other pixels are OFF. Then, the pixels are combined into a space-time volume of voxels, wherein the voxels have varying spatial resolutions and varying temporal resolutions.

Abstract: A nanotube device and a method of depositing nanotubes for device fabrication are disclosed. The method relates to electrophoretic deposition of nanotubes, and allows a control of the number of deposited nanotubes and positioning within a defined region.

Abstract: Disclosed are algorithms, mechanisms, processes, mechanisms, and systems to implement a query upon past versions. In one approach, the version query can be defined as either “rowid”-based access or non-rowid based access. With rowid based access, a given rowid is used to identify the data for which past versions are desired. Also disclosed is a mechanism, system, interface, and process to allow specification of a new table decoration clause to obtain one or more past version of one or more data items. The version query provides for a direct interface to get multiple versions of the row(s). In addition, information about the past versions can be retrieved and displayed along with the past versions.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of encapsulating Ethernet frames over a Very high speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) transport facility. The VDSL frames are transmitted over a point to point VDSL link where they are subsequently extracted and forwarded as standard Ethernet frames. The VDSL facility transport system comprises an Ethernet to VDSL Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) coupled to a DSL Access Multiplexor (DSLAM) over a VDSL transport facility. The Ethernet to VDSL CPE functions to receive a 10BaseT Ethernet signal and encapsulate the Ethernet frame into a VDSL frame for transmission over the VDSL facility. The DSLAM is adapted to receive VDSL frames, extract Ethernet frames therefrom and generate and output a standard Ethernet signal. Ethernet frames are encapsulated within VDSL frames and transmitted on the wire pair without regard to the state of the SOC signals.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention disclose a system and a method for determining points of parabolic curvature on a surface of a specular object from a set of images of the object is acquired by a camera under a relative motion between a camera-object pair and the environment. The method determines directions of image gradients at each pixel of each image in the set of images, wherein pixels from different images corresponding to an identical point on the surface of the object form corresponding pixels. The corresponding pixels having substantially constant the direction of the image gradients are selected as pixels representing points of the parabolic curvature.

Abstract: A method for detecting HTML-modifying malware present in a computer includes providing a server which serves a web page (HTML) to a browser. A determination is made whether a modified string exists in the page received by said browser and if a modifying element is found, determining the malware is present in the computer.

Abstract: A DSL communication system and a method for configuring a DSL communication system. The method includes training at least one anchor DSL modem transmitter to transmit information over at least one anchor line at an anchor bit rate that is determined based on an allowable tolerable noise level and a minimum allowable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) margin; training one or more other DSL modem transmitter to transmit information over one or more other line at a bit rate that is determined by a current noise level and a target SNR margin, wherein the target SNR margin is higher than the minimum allowable SNR margin; and transmitting information by at least one trained DSL modem transmitter to at least one DSL modem receiver.
