  • Patent number: 7747821
Abstract: A compression device recognizes patterns of data and compressing the data, and sends the compressed data to a decompression device that identifies a cached version of the data to decompress the data. In this way, the compression device need not resend high bandwidth traffic over the network. Both the compression device and the decompression device cache the data in packets they receive. Each device has a disk, on which each device writes the data in the same order. The compression device looks for repetitions of any block of data between multiple packets or datagrams that are transmitted across the network. The compression device encodes the repeated blocks of data by replacing them with a pointer to a location on disk. The decompression device receives the pointer and replaces the pointer with the contents of the data block that it reads from its disk.

  • Patent number: 7747418
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-aided process of dental bar design for the purpose of fabricating removable implant-based dental restorations. The aim of the invention is to improve and automate the present dental restoration design process, which is very labor intensive and requires a lot of artistic work on the part of a dentist. The invention includes the developments of several algorithms and their integration into a computer-aided system to process the gingival and related data scanned from a patient's mouth and output a CAD model for fabricating the actual dental bar. Software has been developed to implement the inventive process.

  • Publication number: 20100155595
Abstract: Methods are provided for detecting the amount of one or more CAH panel analytes (i.e., pregnenolone, 17-OH pregnenolone, progesterone, 17-OH progesterone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), androstenedione, testosterone, deoxycorticosterone, 11-deoxycortisol, and cortisol) in a sample by mass spectrometry. The methods generally involve ionizing one or more CAH panel analytes in a sample and quantifying the generated ions to determine the amount of one or more CAH panel analytes in the sample. In methods where amounts of multiple CAH panel analytes are detected, the amounts of multiple analytes are detected in the same sample injection.

  • Publication number: 20100161645
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with artifact type neutral change management are described. One example method includes maintaining an access table for each artifact in a collaborative software environment that records a most recent access of an artifact on a per user basis. An artifact type registration table is also maintained that maps each artifact type to the access table that records access information for artifacts of the given type and to a data store that stores artifacts of that type. For a given user, artifact pair, queries on the type registration table, access table, and data store are generated to return the last modification time for the artifact and the user's last access time for the artifact. This information is used to determine a change status of the artifact for the given user. This common framework can be used for artifacts of any type that are registered in the type registration table.

  • Publication number: 20100153841
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for correcting the layout of shapes in a diagram, and specifically for diagrams having constraint-based layouts, such as with lists of regions and shapes directly connected without connecting lines. A request is received to correct the diagram layout. Shape layouts are predicted for each region, followed by minimal region corrections corresponding to the corrected shape layouts. Corrected layouts are provided sequentially through the lists of regions while resolving conflicts. Virtual nodes may be utilized to preserve region layouts when flipping or rotating diagrams. A connection classification and prioritization system is used to layout shapes and regions within a diagram having one or more direct connections between shapes and/or regions.

  • Publication number: 20100150095
Abstract: A technique for network entry in multi-channel mobile systems is described. The procedure utilizes the channel specific information sent in the beacon of each channel to select a subset of suitable channels. It then proceeds to scan these channels to gather information on perceived interference and received signal strength. Based on collected information the device picks the most suitable channel for joining the network. Since the channels to be scanned are pre-selected based on information seen in the beacon, the overall scan latency is reduced, thereby leading to a faster and more successful network entry.

  • Publication number: 20100153053
Abstract: An approach is provided to manage test transactors that interface with components of a hardware design. A first set of transactors is launched with the first set sending stimuli to various components that correspond to the first set of transactors. A manager receives signals when transactors of the first set have completed at which point a second set of transactors is identified that are dependent upon the first set transactors that completed. The second set of transactors is launched by the manager. The manager further facilitates transmission of data used by the various transactors. Transactors generate and provide stimuli to various components included in a hardware design, such as a System-on-a-Chip (SoC). Results from the hardware design are passed to the transactors which, in turn, pass the results back to the manager. In this manner, results from one transactor may be made available as input to another transactor.

  • Patent number: 7736979
Abstract: A nanotube field effect transistor and a method of fabrication are disclosed. The method includes electrophoretic deposition of a nanotube to contact a region of a conductive layer defined by an aperture. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method of depositing nanotubes in a region defined by an aperture, with control over the number of nanotubes to be deposited, as well as the pattern and spacing of nanotubes. For example, electrophoretic deposition, along with proper configuration of the aperture, allows at least one nanotube to be deposited in a target region with nanometer scale precision. Pre-sorting of nanotubes, e.g., according to their geometries or other properties, may be used in conjunction with embodiments of the present disclosure to facilitate fabrication of devices with specific performance requirements.
