  • Patent number: 7657450
Abstract: A trigger engine and infrastructure for event registration and handling that is reliable, secure and scalable. Transactional authenticated and/or encrypted messages (e.g., via MSMQ) are used to transport events across each server. A stable recovery mechanism is provided wherein the recovery path is nearly identical to the normal path. A trigger engine may concentrate multiple similar requests into a single base request for event notification, and upon receipt of the base event, access tables maintained in the trigger engine to track which client registered for which type of notification. In this manner, only the base event request is registered remotely, reducing the number of events that need to be communicated to remote servers. Identical event requests from clients may also be concentrated into a base event request, and events distributed to those clients when appropriate. Duplicate base event requests are blocked locally and thus only the first such one ever reaches the remote server.

  • Patent number: 7657854
Abstract: A method and system for designing a test circuit in a System on Chip (SOC) includes identifying the test design constraints of the test circuit. The SOC is partitioned logically into a first set of logic blocks and a second set of logic blocks. A first set of scan chains is inserted in the first set of logic blocks, and a second set of scan chains is inserted in the second set of logic blocks, based on the test design constraints. Bypass circuits are inserted in the paths of the second set of scan chains, which are capable of bypassing at least one logic block of the second set of logic blocks during testing of the SOC.

  • Publication number: 20100014503
Abstract: An extension to a heterogeneous MAC protocol that makes provisions for multi-frequency system architecture is described. A new frame structure for a multi-frequency xMAX system is introduced. Multi-frequency xMAX system is an extension of a single-channel xMAX system, where the available bandwidth is split into multiple channels to provide additional capacity and range. The new frame structure is followed by all channels and is designed to fulfill the requirements of multiple frequency operation. The new frame structure incorporates features that allow the handset to leverage the advantages of multiple frequency channels, especially in the event of interference. Also, a new mechanism to reduce the power consumption in the handset is discussed that significantly reduces the number of unnecessary receive operations at the handset.
