  • Patent number: 8436852
Abstract: Image editing which is consistent with geometry of a scene depicted in the image is described. In an embodiment a graphical user interface (GUI) is provided to enable a user to simply and quickly specify four corners of a rectangular frame drawn onto a source image using the GUI. In embodiments, the four corners are used to compute parameters of a virtual camera assumed to capture the image of the drawn frame. Embodiments of an image processing system are described which use the virtual camera parameters to control editing of the source image in ways consistent with the 3D geometry of the scene depicted in that image. In some embodiments out of bounds images are formed and/or realistic-looking shadows are synthesized. In examples, users are able to edit images and the virtual camera parameters are dynamically recomputed and used to update the edited image.

  • Patent number: 8438139
Abstract: A dynamic layer above a sequential deduplication file system (denoted as DFS) implements the rewrite functionality. A user file is composed of one or more DFS files. As incoming data is written into a user file, the data is written by the dynamic layer sequentially into DFS files, created one by one. For each user file this dynamic layer creates and maintains a dynamic metadata file, in a regular, non deduplicated file system. This metadata file contains entries pointing to sections of DFS files.

  • Patent number: 8437537
Abstract: A method estimates a 3D pose of a 3D specular object in an environment. In a preprocessing step, a set of pairs of 2D reference images are generated using a 3D model of the object, and a set of poses of the object, wherein each pair of reference images is associated with one of the poses. Then, a pair of 2D input images are acquired of the object. A rough 3D pose of the object is estimated by comparing features in the pair of 2D input images and the features in each pair of 2D reference images using a rough cost function. The rough estimate is optionally refined using a fine cost function.

  • Publication number: 20130111312
Abstract: In one exemplary embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a web page with a web browser in a computing device. A jamming trigger term is received from a database stored in the computing device. A targeted age group is also received. The jamming trigger term is located in the web page. An instruction is provided to an audio system of the computing device to play a sound wave at a frequency. The frequency is audible by the targeted age group but not an older age group according to a frequency audibility table. A web scrapping operation can be performed on the web page after the web page is downloaded by the web browser. The targeted age group can be persons eighteen years of age and younger and wherein the frequency comprises a twenty kilo-hertz value (20 kHz).

  • Publication number: 20130109143
Abstract: The present application features methods of fabricating a gate region in a vertical laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) transistor. In one aspect, a method includes depositing a masking layer on an n-well region implanted on a substrate, patterning the masking layer to define an area, and forming a first trench in the area such that a length of the first trench extends from a surface of the n-well region to a first depth in the n-well region. The method also includes filling the first trench by a conductive material and depositing a layer of oxide over the area. The method further includes etching out at least a portion of the oxide layer to expose a portion of the conductive material, removing the conductive material from the exposed portion to form a second trench, and filling the second trench with an oxide to form an asymmetric gate of the transistor.
